Hackers will often probe machines on the Internet for a list of their Users (SAM Accounts) and Shares (Shared folders and Printers). You can prevent this by Enabling "Do Not Allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts". 1.) Click on "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Local Security Policy" 2.) Navigate to the "Security Options" folder in the left pane. 
3.) Scroll down to "Network Access" and Double click on the "Do Not Allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts" in the right pane, and choose "Enabled". 
4.) Click on the "OK" button. 5.) You will now see that both "Network Access" headings called 'Do Not Allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts...' are now enabled
