I've got an SCCM 2012 installation. hardware inventory is running correctly (for the most part). Resource explorer is reporting back on physical hardware but no installed software is showing up. I've followed guidance from several KB articles but the issue is not resolved. After doing the following I ran a Hardware Inventory across toe building. It ran late last week and again yesterday. Yielding no results.

Additional symptom: When I build a query, I select the "Software Products", "Product Name" attribute. When I click on the "Value" box, which would normally give me a drop down list of items, it is also empty. What am I MISSING!!!!!!????

I've gone in to the Default Client Settings, "Hardware Inventory" option and selected additional "Inventory Classes" to collect:

Installed apps (64)....

Installed apps (win32reg.....)

Installed executable - .....

Installed Software - ......

Software Licensing Prod.....

Software Licensing Serv.....

Software Shortcut.....

Software Tag......

In "Software Inventory" option I DID NOT "SET" any "Inventory File Types", nor did I select "Collect Files". Based on the KB articles, If I set the items above, I didn't need to set these items.

Thanks in advance for the help.

	HI Everyone,

We recently migrated some servers from SCOM 2007 to SCOM 2012. In that 3 servers were in PCI zone [ under Firewall ] . So we installed the SCOM 2012 agent manually in those servers and restarted the services. But in the SCOM 2012 console we could see the servers is in NOT MONITORED status. Kindly help me how can I get SCOM monitoring the servers from the firewall servers.

				Hi,

				We are experiencing multiple instances of the above event ID on both of our SCOM management servers. On the RMS the below workflows are being referenced;

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectSignatureData

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectPublishedEntityState

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectEventData

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectAlerts

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectPerformanceData

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectDiscoveryData

				On the second Management server on the below is being referenced;

				Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectDiscoveryData

				I am led to believe this is indicating performance issues specifically with the operational Database and have followed this article to the best of my ability  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2681388/how-to-troubleshoot-event-id-2115-related-performance-problems-in-operations-manager . I can also confirm that the most recent changes in our SCOM Infrastructure that may be affecting this are;

1.New Management server was added to the environment

2.SCOM Action Account had to have its password changed, which I followed the procedure as per this article http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/om12x-changing-passwords-om12x-service.html

3.Both the Operational and Data Warehouse Databases which almost full and only auto growing by 10MB at a time, so I have removed auto grow and sized both databases correctly, removing autogrow.

I also believe that excessive configuration churn is not taking place due to the presence of event ID's 21024 being promptly followed by 21025 or 21026 in the event logs as per the following article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2603913/how-to-detect-and-troubleshoot-frequent-configuration-changes-in-operations-manager

Is there anything else that I can check for on this?

				Regards

Hi there,

I have a fairly new SCOM install up at the moment.

It consists of:

2 Management Servers

2 Gateway servers on other domains using certificates

1 SQL Server with two instances, one for OperationsDB and one for WarehouseDB.

Ever since I installed it a couple of weeks ago, I get the following error every now and then, and it can last for up to 2 days at a time:

OpsMgr Management Configuration Service failed to execute 'SnapshotSynchronization' engine work item due to the following exception

Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ManagementConfiguration.DataAccessLayer.DataAccessOperationTimeoutException: Exception of type 'Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ManagementConfiguration.DataAccessLayer.DataAccessOperationTimeoutException' was thrown.

   at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ManagementConfiguration.DataAccessLayer.DataAccessOperation.ExecuteSynchronously(Int32 timeoutSeconds, WaitHandle stopWaitHandle)

   at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ManagementConfiguration.Engine.TracingConfigurationDataProvider.GetConfigurationSnapshotNextBatch(SnapshotProcessWatermark watermark)

   at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ManagementConfiguration.Interop.ConfigServiceEngineWorkItem.Execute()

Now when this is happening, I also get a whole bunch of others:

Once the original error above clears, the others also resolve, so I'm only interested in said error I'm assuming.

I have been running the following query on the OperationsDB on SQL:

Select WorkItemName, b.WorkItemStateName, ServerName, StartedDateTimeUtc, CompletedDateTimeUtc, DurationSeconds, ERRORMESSAGE

from cs.WorkItem a , cs.WorkItemState b

where a.WorkItemStateId= b.WorkItemStateId

and WorkItemName = 'SnapshotSynchronization'

Which returns the following:

On one which was succeeded, the day before, the time shows 302.

I have increased the timeouts on the config files on both Management servers and restarted the services (even the servers themselves), but still nothing helps.

Pulling my hair out with this a bit!

All machines are Windows Server 2012R2.

We do run them on VMWare with DRS enabled, but they haven't migrated for some time, so it's not a host/network thing as far as I can see.

OpsMgr is running as normal mostly, still monitoring things and reporting, but I cannot add new objects to monitor until this clears.

The Management Servers and others also show this in the even log:

"OpsMgr's configuration may be out-of-date for management group <Management Group>, and has requested updated configuration from the Configuration Service.", but I don't see successful update of the cookie until this issue resolves itself.

Any help is much appreciated!

Cheers

Dear Forum,

I have problem deploying HP XW4600 workstation with SCCM. I'm using WinPE 10 x64 from MDT2013.

I was following this procedure to find out card driver (I also tried driver from running WIndows 7x64):

https://www.niallbrady.com/2011/08/31/missing-nic-driver-in-winpe-boot-image-no-problem/

So my card is definitely:

Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_167B&SUBSYS_1308103C

I took driver for x64 Desktop/Mobile/Server (x64) version 17.2.0.2 from:

https://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet-nic-netxtreme-i-desktop-mobile

When I load the driver with drvload b57nd60a.inf

it says that driver was loaded fine, then I do the:

wpeutil initializeNetwork
followed by
ipconfig

but cannot get IP address from the server.

I've also tried: HP Client Windows PE 10 x64 Driver Pack

from: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/softpaq/WinPE10.html

without success...

In the past I've been using 32bit WinPE and these XP workstations were installing fine.

Could You please help me to detect and insert correct driver ?

Afternoon All,

I'm having a problem with the updated driver pack for a latitude E5440, the problem is as follows:

Booting the machine and selecting the task sequence works fine, so I know I have the correct network drivers applied to my boot image.

The problem is during my OSD I have WMI query in place to apply the driver package (Downloaded from Dells website). after a while the machine times out and the task sequence fails.

Booting up the machine to see what has gone wrong reveals that the drivers have not applied, mainly the both network drivers (Wifi and LAN) and the display driver, if i copy the drivers from the driver package to a usb and select to update manually from the usb the drivers install fine without issue.

I have tried redoing the driver package, changing the OSD to auto apply drivers, but nothing is working so far.

Changing the OSD to install the out of date older drivers works fine.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction as its doing my head in now!

Thanks
