Hi,
R3 is a feature release for those customer with SA for the SCCM licenese or if you buy them just now. You have to install R3 pre-req hotfix and then install R3 after you have installed SP2 for SCCM 2007. You should have the files on the DVD though, but you have to run the installer.
Here is the download for the Hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977384

Hi,
Each server name must be unique you cannot setup a trust between to DC's both called Server01.
After that you need to start with setting up name resolution between the to domain, the easiest way to do this is to use a conditional forwarder on both sides.
So on the DNS server for contoso.com you configure a Conditonal Forwarder to -> bimfirm.com and on the DNS for for the bimfirm.com you do it for contoso.com.
More information about conditional forwarders see : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc794735(WS.10).aspx

That should do it!
I have written a little post about how to amongst other things use an exclusion collection. You can check it out here: http://ccmexec.com/?p=486

Hi,
yes, you need to add a query which queries SMS_G_System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS_64 for installed 64-bit applications for 64-bit applications.

Hi,
You can achieve this by using Software Inventory, add for *.txt and then choose to not look in sub-directories and only in C:\ that should not generate that much data and then you can create the collections you lika based on it.
