  1. I'm tryin to setup the report services point site system role on my SCCM 2012 SP1 primary site. However when I get the configuring the settings the "Reporting Services server instance" is blank, and I'm not able enter anything inside that box. I verified my reporting services configuration manager that report server is setup properly. I see other threads posting similar issues but many of them has to do with SQL 2008.

Current SCCM 2012 SP1 configuration is below....

Primary Site Server: SCCM 2012 SP1

SQL Server(separate remote server) SQL Server 2012 CU2

***SMSAdmin Account has local admin rights on the sql server***

    Thanks

  2. I'm in the process of configuring boundary groups for site assignment, but I want to ensure that each boundary in my boundary group is not a member of another boundary group with a different site assignment.

I currently have a SCCM 2007 source hierarchy in our environment, which have a separate boundary for each Active Directory site within our local forest.

My question is when I create my boundaries and boundary groups in SCCM 2012 SP1, how to I prevent overlapping my boundaries in my SCCM 2007 enviroment.

I read the technet documentation that overlapping boundaries are not supported for site assignment. However, I read overlapping boundaries are supported for content location.

    Thanks in advance

  3. Does "no configuration changes" also mean you've not patched the WSUS server?

The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.

This is the WSUS server attempting to initiate an HTTPS connection to do the synchronization. It's failing because the WSUS server has an expired or untrusted SSL certificate for Microsoft. The entire certificate infrastructure for the Microsoft WU system was replaced in June, 2012 (and through subsequent months and additional updates).

    Lawerence,

You were 100% correct, after creating another certificate we were able to pull WSUS updates again.

    Thanks again

    That

  4. A few weeks ago our WSUS server stopped pullin updates from Microsoft Updates site for no apparent reason. I checked and there were no configuration changes done on our WSUS server, or the network. The only error I can get is the error you see below....I checked everything at nothing seems to work.Strange thing is when I copy the url and paste it in IE, I'm able to get to the WSUS download page from that server.

WebException: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. ---> System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.

    Thanks,

  5. I have SCCM 2012 installed in my test environment. However I also installed SCCM 2007 in my test environment (also running in prodcution environment) to fully test migration tools. What I would lkie to know are there any tools, powershell scripts, etc out there to copy the SCCM 2007 data in my production network to my test enviroment. ?

    Thanks,

  6. Hey All,

I just installed SCCM 2012 in my test environment, with a remote sql 2012 server. However, as I read more documentation on 2012, experts or so call experts say I should install SQL server 2012 locally on the same primary site server. The main reason they say is for permissions simplicity. However, when I install 2012 in production should I install SQL 2012 server local or on remote server.

    Current Site Hierarchy

    Primary Site

3 Secondary Sites at remote locations

Total Clients: 500-1000 at each site.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  7. I'm trying to extend the active schema for config 2012 and I continue to get an permissions error = 5 when trying to run command line utility extadsch.exe, which is included in the setup binaries. I checked and my admin account and it is part of the Schema admin group.

Also just be sure, I'm suppose to install extadsch from the main DC, and not the SCCM server, correct?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  8. Good Afternoon,

I have currently have SCCM 2012(thanks to your SCCM guides) setup in my test environment. However, on my production environment we currently have SCCM 2007 in production and planning on moving/migrating over to SCCM 2012 the next few months. Now, is it necessary to create a SCCM 2007 environment in my test environment to successfully test the migration? Which would mean I would have to scrap my current SCCM 2012 and start all over again.... Or should I just keep on current SCCM 2012 in test and work from there, since you can only stand up SCCM 2012 in parallel (no upgrade function) with SCCM 2007. Also, I was thinking of not using any of the migration tools.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  9. Primary server and SQL server along with DP's are all hosted on vmware virtual machines, i have never had issues with the 2008 installation, just followed the wizard. I would recommned that you install it with the default instance intact and then add a dedicated SCCM instance on top of it, there have been indexing issues in past release when not keeping the default instance intact. I should correct myself that we are using SQL 2008 R2 SP2 with no CU.

Also as an added tip, when you create your boundary groups, use one group for site assignment, and create a seperate boundary grp for distribution points

    Thanks

Both my Primary server and SQL server will be running on VMWare VM's. However, as for your DP's, are you hosting that data on a separate VM?

    Thanks

    Paul
