  1. Hi I have been successfully PXE booting and imaging machines for some time. But we now have a new HP model that I cannot get it working. Its a HP 6300 Pro sff, core i3 with EFS BOIS I have tried the PXE drivers from the HP site, I have tries injecting all the Windows NIC drivers from the HP Site, I have even tried will ALL NIC drivers from my driver base injected, it simply does not seem to have the required driver? I have also tried both 32 and 64 bit boot images, in both SCCM 2007 and MDT versions I am using SCCM 2007
  2. Am not sure I understand the problem
  3. Hi I am now using this method and it works well, apart from it only does ONE pass of the WSUS server then installs some updates then reboots. Then it scans for pass TWO but installs nothing here even though its only installed 7 updates from pass ONE. Once the machine has finished the OSD process all the other updates install Is this right or should ALL updates install during the process of the "ZTIWindowsUpdate.wsf" script Thanks
  4. That's why, this always happens from that .WIM file You need to create your own .WIM from an install you have created to get the OSD to default to the C:\ drive
  5. Did you use the .wim file from the Windows 7 media?
  6. Hi We are deploying Windows 7 through SCCM 2007 All is working fine thought both mandatory and non mandatory method. What I would like to know, is it possible to put a desktop shortcut to the advert in "Run Advertised Programs" ? thanks
  7. Add the applications one at a time until you find the one with the problem
  8. Check on the client that the machine has set to "false" provisioning mode on the SCCM Client.. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM\CcmExec" "ProvisioningMode" = "false" Also that HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM\CcmExec" "SystemTaskExcludes" has a blank line
  9. Make sure your System Image, All included Applications, Drivers etc are on Distribution points Also run Report "290" Packages Referenced by a specific task sequence against your OSD task sequence you should see what part of the sequence is failing
  10. Jorgen Weather I create a Mandatory Advert or use "Right click tools, Right click ConFigMgr Collection Tools - Wake On Lan" on the collection it does not wake machines I have looked in the log file but cannot find any errors also no records for the machine I am trying to WOL I will try again with a clean log file
  11. Jorgen Nilsson Do all WSUS servers have a http address? I cant seem to find ours [may seem a simple question, I hope it has a simple answer ]
  12. Hi I am having a problem with Wake On LAN within SCCM 2007 The server simply will not wake any machine, however if I run WOL - Magic Packet Sender from the SCCM server using same port [9 UDP] the machines wake up fine. Is there something else in SCCM that needs configuring apart from "Wake ON LAN" within the SITE Properties? Also in these settings I have tried all combinations of Power Commands/Wake-Up Packets Only/Sub-Net Broadcasts and Unicast etc thanks
  13. Thanks Jorgen I will look into this method
  14. We currently use SCCM 2007 R3 for Application deployment, OSD etc but not MS udates We have an existing WSUS server system that does the updates. My question is, Can I import the updates into SCCM 2007 but not deploy them. I would like to do this to updates machines during the ODS phase Or is there a better method? The company do not want to use SCCM for the updates at this time Thanks
  15. Thanks, but I am crating a 'Zero Touch' for this, all I really want to save from the machines is people Internet Favorites and possibly the My Documents to the share stated on the 'State Migration Point', to allow me to keep the info for a few days
  16. It will be mainly Reinstalls [From XP to 7 and 7 to 7 etc] Although it will also have to work on a new computers as we get them, although there will be nothing needed to be saved from these
  17. Hi all I am currently deploying Windows 7 to the XP machines, using SCCM 2007/MDT2012 How [using MDT] do I get USMT working? I have set up a 'State Migration Point' etc already but am not sure what I need to include in the TS, or do I have to install USMT on the targets machines first? thanks Keith
  18. Hi During my Task Sequence to deploy Windows 7x64 some software applications take a fare while to install, so the screen goes to sleep. This confuses some of our users as they think the TS has stopped Is there a way to keep the screen ON during the TS process? Thanks
  19. Have you put the Boot image on your distribution point
  20. Hi We [the company] currently use SCCM 2007 to manage applications etc to Windows XP [mostly] We are planning a full XP to 7 migration and a migration to SCCM 2012. Is it possible to leave the SCCM 2007 system running on only the XP machines whilst the new SCCM 2012 system deploys to Windows 7 machines only? thanks
  21. Hi A simple question.. Can SCCM 2007/2012 deploy Virtual Applications created using ThinApp? Thanks
  22. No worries there, we have NetApp SAN
  23. Our company policy is to have the "server's" and "SQL" server's on different ESX box's, so it will have to be seperate servers
  24. Hi We currently use SCCM 2007, running on a 2008r2 server. We also use a 2008r2 server running SQL 2008 for SCCM use only. I understand the 'side by side' migration but I am unsure about the SQL setup My question is... Apart from a new server for SCCM 2012, should a new SQL server be built and SCCM 2012 pointed at this, or should the SCCM 2012 server be pointed at the current SQL server? If using the current SQL, will 2012 use the same database instance or create a new one? cheers
