  1. This maybe an obvious question but I just want to confirm MDT 2012 will work well with SCCM 2007 This is correct? Thanks
  2. Hi I was wondering. In the Power management that was in R3, what will happen if a computer is in 2 collections that have power restrictions applied? Which policy will apply? thanks
  3. Oh well, it was worth a try. Thanks for info GarthMJ
  4. We have a service desk team who can add machines to collections. But some of the applications have a max number of licenses. If I could set a limit on a collection it would stop anyone exceeding this number very basic way I know but would serve the purpose
  5. Hi In SCCM 2007, can you limit the number of machines that can be added to a collection? thanks
  6. Hi I have a TS that builds an XP machine, then installs software, makes some small changes like DNS etc then joins to domain before making a few more changes. HOWEVER it reboots on the join domain section and does not carry on the TS after the reboot. I have changed the position of the join domain up the list but it still reboots and does not carry on any ideas? Thanks
  7. 8. Try taking it off all distribution points, then creating new boot.wim with the drivers you need and putting this new one on the distribution points
  9. Are you updating the distribution point once you remove drivers?
  10. You want to remover driver from boot.win?
  11. Hi I recently built a new windows 7 image. I have used the same process as I have in the past but on a different machine (HP) The problem is no matter what I do in the .xml when deployed the machine always askes for a computer name! This happens if I leave blank, state a name or just put * in the xml file. I know it's reading the xml as it puts in the usernames stated and also the regional settings etc, Any ideas? Thanks
  12. Hi I am deploying a lot of Windows 7 images, can a BDP running on an XP platform be used to store boot.wim and image.wim files? if so is it simply adding the PXE role to them? the BDP's are only used for this purpose and not as a desktop machine thanks Keith
  13. I have now sorted this... I have used wsname as post install package within the TS
  14. Hi There are a lot of posts regarding renaming PC within the TS, but most posts jump between TS and MDT I do not use MDT at present but do use SCCM 2007. This is mainly for Windows 7 Pro 64bit, but if it works on XP also this would be great Can someone help me with a simple way to do this, and where in the TS the different parts or the process are inserted. Oh, I want to rename to SERIAL NUMBER, I should have said thanks Keith
  15. Hi I do not have MDT at present and want to rename from TS How do I do this? its windows 7.. This thread seems to jump between scripting and MDT thanks
  16. Hi I have now built and captured a new base image and cured the issue with the C drive, but now a vbs script I had running post imaging to rename the computer to its serial number no longer works? How do you guys rename to serial number, within TS? Keith
  17. Why cant you just Deploy from the Install.wim from OS disk and get it to install to C: ? It seems a lot of work to have to build and capture just to get it to C:
  18. Hi You could try a small application called "wsname" this gives the option of prefix's when renaming computers Keith
  19. Hi I am deploying Windows 7 Pro SP1 from the standard install.wim through SCCM 2007 R3, I have tried both in the TS to install to C:\ and also from within the unattend.xml, but it always seems to install to D:\. Even when installing the install.win onscreen it says installing to C:\, so its like its changing after initial installation? Anyone help Keith
  20. Seems I have sorted it, for some reason I need to specify a modified sysprep.inf, with all settings here, not sure why
  21. Peter33 The drivers ARE from the manufacturer, we download them and install them using Fujitsu's own DeskView tools. Then back them up from the target machine.
  22. I have now tested both with and without the WMI query and can say this is working, as if I change the model WMI is looking for the drivers do not copy to the target machine, id the model is the same as in WMI the drivers do copy but don't install...
  23. Rocket man, sorry I misunderstood your question. I created the image with build and capture with no drivers, I am trying to deploy the image now and cannot git the drivers to install
