  1. I've recently taken over a MDT server that is using "hard coded" MAC/IP address for deployments. Can anyone tell me how to remove these settings? This is creating an unique deployment for each MAC which I'd like to get away from. I'd like to be able to have one deployment available for multiple server/workstation MAC/IP's. Is there a way to make the deployments available for all known and unknown machine types? I've done this with our 2012 Configmgr and it works great!
  2. Hello all, First post and totally NOOB here! I'm currently using the query below to find the LAN MAC address by entering the computer name in a prompted value. select distinct SMS_R_System.MACAddresses, SMS_R_System.Name from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.Name = ##PRM:SMS_R_System.Name## order by SMS_R_System.Name Is it even possible, and if so I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to, query to find all MACs using the computer name in a prompted value? Currently if I run the query on a laptop, it will not return the wireless MAC and this is what I'm looking for. Also, I have seen ways of running such queries but they do not differentiate between which MAC is which. Would it be better to write a script in PowerShell for this task? Thank you!
  3. Hi All, I have what seems to be a slight issue, perhaps someone can think of a creative solution, as so far I cannot see a way past the issue. So here we go: I have implemented OSD, it works fine for all hardware in our environment. Laptops (with dedicated NIC) Desktops (with dedicated NIC) The Task sequence is advertised to unknown computers. The question relates to tablets. I can build all flavours of tablets the company wishes supported, however.... The support engineers have limited docking stations for the surface pro3's and other tablets, and the company dont want to purchase a dock with each device. I have suggested at least a usb to ethernet adapter for each device which was also frowned upon... The initial build of a single unit works fine, however the MAC for the Docking station is then associated with the device just build. If i come along with another surface pro 3 for example and put it in the same dock to build - it is no longer unknown to sccm (MAC address i guess) and does not pxe to build. (unless i delete the previously built device from sccm which has the docks MAC associated...) Am i being dumb here? I was thinking about deploying the TS to a collection and importing, but this will not solve the mac issue. Any able to help me think clearer or suggest anything !! I will keep thinking and googling !!!
  4. I've created a collection called "Capture Images Collection". I imported computer information with the MAC address and told it to populate into that collection. When viewing that collection in the Configuration Manager Console, the imported computer doesn't appear. I've looked at the properties of the collection and it shows the computer listed as a direct rule. See attached. Anyone have an idea?
