We have a small number of servers in our DMZ all are in their own workgroups so no knowledge of each other. They are also not all internet connected so patches must be pushed from internal to DMZ. I noticed this post https://nikifoster.wordpress.com/2011/01/31/installing-configmgr-clients-on-servers-in-a-dmz/ which states as long as I have firewall rules inplace I can manually install the clients and have them talk directly back to my site server internally no certificates required. I was also looking at https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f8b1b51e-515e-41f6-bb1e-cdeeabb11f6f/configmgr-2012-design-for-dmz?forum=configmanagergeneral and their option 3 is to build a DP/MP/SUP box still internal and have that configured with SSL to then talk to the DZ boxes. If I were to build this design and enable SSL what effect will this have on my currently working internal environment. will every machine now have to use the new certifcates to talk to SCCM? or will it only be for boxes talking to the new Distribution Point which I can hopefully administer with boundary points.

One user has requested an application from software store and it has been installed on his machine as well however later user found that he had requested the wrong application so he had uninstalled it using software store uninstall option. The issue is now whenever user login to the machine he is getting the pop up "New software is available" and software store is showing the old application as available. Is there any way to remove it?

Hello WN community! I have a bit of stumper I was hoping to get some feedback on! Let me know what you think... Scenario: We're running SCCM 2012 now for a little over a year, problem free. We've noticed however, that randomly (about 10 out of 1000 clients) the SCCM Client is reporting that the PKI certificate is none. What's stranger still, is that in the ClientIDManagerStartup.log, it doesn't appear to have an issue detecting and selecting the PKI certificate... Directly after the client selects the Cert, the ClientIDManagerStartup.log fills up with this repeating for ages I have ran a repair on the client, same result. I checked to see if perhaps the clients were stuck in provisioning mode, and they're not. Sort of at a loss of what to check next! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello Guys!! I'm wonderinf if some of you could help me out with ConfigManager site publishing for internet facing. our site server is configure to use HTTPS only with a working PKI. Site role and ccm clients are all runing very well on the internal. The site system has an externat FQDN configured and that FQDN is published on the internet. DNS entries seem good as well. Is there a tutorial or documentation on publishing my site for internet clients using TMG 2010 or F5? If some of you could helps, i would appreciate a lot

Hi All, Can anybody help. Currently trying to build a HP probook 650 with Win7 x86, however I get the following error message during the task sequence, when it is applying system settings "windows could not configure one or more system components, to install windows restart the computer and restart the installation" The only option is to click OK, computer restarts and then the error message reappears. SCCM was building fine and then just stopped working an this error message keeps occurring. Unable to F8 and Shift F10 to get any additional info Please Help Thanks

By any chance... I am deploying new OS and when I give a name to the new computer before running the task sequence, for some reason if have more than 8 characters when applying the new OS the task sequence fails. Is there any way I can override and set it to take more characters? I noticed it fails during the applying Operating System step

Hello, I have upgrade my SCCM 2012 R2 CU5 infra to 2012 R2 SP1. Now, each time I try to deploy software that required vc++ 2010 RT, doesn't work anymore; The vc++ extract himself on the root of c then is launched. nothing happens after that. Typical case is for all adobe CC 2014 programs that install this vc++ each time. I must kill the setup.exe process in order to continue the installation. When I double-click on the exe, I receive Access Denied .... strange. When I try now OSD, everything that self extract in a folder in root of C, I get 0x80004005 ... access denied (for example dotnet framework 4.5.2 or msxml ) For the rest, no problems... It's really urgent because we will got to production in 2 weeks and we are completely blocked because of this ... Thanks Gérard

Afternoon, Recently, I have noticed that some our machines are not consistantly joining the domain as part of the task sequence. I find the issue is very strange, for example the same laptop can take multiple attempts before finally going through and completing the task sequence. The issue occurs with different laptop/desktop manufacturers and models. It also occurs with machines that have previously been sucessful through the task sequence. Our setup has been in place for 18 months and the task sequence has not been altered. The boot image has also not been altered and the correct network drivers are present. I have read that the network drivers in the driver package may need updating, however as the machines will occasionally work I am unsure as to whether that is the correct answer. Within the task sequence I have checked that the user account used to join the machine is correct and it has appropriate permissions. After reviewing the SMSTS logs I have noticed the following: Found network adapter "Intel® Ethernet Connection I217-V" with IP Address 169.254.101.136. TSMBootstrap 04/06/2015 12:32:50 2920 (0x0B68) So I think it must be failing due to the IP address. I am unsure as to why a 169.254 address would be issued. Can anyone explain why it picks up this address during the image build? Towards the end of the SMSTS log I can see the following: Retrying... Hi Guys, I have sccm 2012 rollouting Lync 2013 to a Office 2010 environment, and its proving inconsistent my pilot test has worked for 10 users. But another 9 has come back with message ID 10006 Description 30088 execmgr says this :- Script for Package:AS100076, Program: Lync 2013 failed with exit code 30088 execmgr 20/04/2015 13:15:27 5456 (0x1550) Execution is complete for program Lync 2013. Hi, SCCM 2012 R2 environment with Standalone primary server After a site database movement to another server the SMS_Executive service went missing in the Standalone Primary Server. We have tried to move back the Site Database pointer in SCCM to old server and perform site reset as well but the SMS_Executive service does not reinstall. Is there any other option available to get it running once again?

Hello, For disk space consumption and time reason i configure some large application style office or Visual studio to directly run from the sources share, so without content and the installation command line pointing to the sources location (without working dir) Everything is working well till i add this application to a task sequence. when i re-open the TS, a message appears: "The objects referenced in the task sequence cannot be found. Verify that the object exists and that the task sequence references the correct object name and location. Application Name" To workaround this i have created one dummy folder with one empty vbs file. Then i point content to this one and then i distribute the content to DP Gérard

System Center 2012 R2 alerts for SCEP have stopped sending emails upon an infection. Some infections, not all, are still being reported under the monitoring tab but an email is no longer sent. I have tried to test with the EICAR test files and nothing was reported under monitoring. I tested the email through SCCM and it is working. This happened once before and I deleted the subscription and added it back to get it working again. This time, no luck. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, We are installing a new SCCM 2012 R2 infra. The hope is to have one SCCM server Site containing the SQL and all rôles except DP one. We plan to install DP on other server, this to optimize disk space and performance on the site server. This also to optimize DRP and backups/restore (time, space, ...). So i have create the NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS on all Site server drives. The problem now is that logs indicates that there are no location to create the SCCMContentLib folder. If i delete the NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS from one Drive, everything is ok. So, there is a dilem for us as we don't wants to allocate large disk for this SCCMContentLib folder on the site server. But it's seems that this folder is needed on the site server and is used to copy the content to DP. Is there a way to avaoid this SCCMContentLib on the site server ? Thanks

hi all, We are deploying our yearly OS refresh to our network via sccm (2012r2). We have decided to deploy applications in the TS rather than in the Image it's self. For some reason applications seem to be hit and miss deploying. in a room full of 30 identical computers, about 6 got applications. the rest just had the Image. Re running the TS had the same result but on different computers. Tried: Allowing anonymous authentication Removing apps one by one (but could not get a consistent deploy) Restarts in between each application Checked boundary's to make sure we have no rogues. (we only have one) We are pulling our hair out, can anyone help please Matt

I was looking for a folder that have large size in my c drive .soddenly I've found ccmchache folder with 5GB .I change the cache size on clients nicely to 500 MB. but after a week that sccm wanted to install update on clients I faced with too many updates about 50 Updates that should be installed .I let them install .after restarting windows I saw some of the Update hasn't be installed . on the other hand some of updates that I had defined to be required to install and I expect them install automatically But some of them become an available update and waiting for user approve to install . whats the solution .?please .

Hi, I have an SCCM 2007 site server which all my clients have the agent. We setup a Eval of SCCM 2012. Well one of the techs turn on automatic client install on the SCCM 2012 server. Now all of the clients have the new client with a new site name. I need to remove all the new agents and re-install the SCCM 2007 Client. What would be the best approach? HELP! Thanks, Steve
