  1. Hi, I have a task sequence which is working nicely and includes the client install step as normal. However, once the OS has been deployed it doesn't leave behind the CCMsetup folder in System32. I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour but once the OS has been deployed the agents never show up as 'client installed - yes' on the SCCM site server. If you then try to run repair on the client it fails as it cannot find the ccmsetup folder. The task sequence wipes the disk, installs Windows 7 + drivers and then installs a few bits of software so fairly standard. Running SCCM 2007 R3 as a site server on Server 2008 R2. I'm thinking it could be an issue with the client installer possibly? Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I have my boundaries configured correctly and Client Push enabled which deploys the client correctly to 90% of workstations (both XP and Win7) and servers (both 2003 and 2008). However, I've found (in particular with XP machines) the client fails to install. In the Devices list there are quite a few devices that have the correct site code assigned but with no client installed. If I manually try browsing to the client share and run ccmsetup.exe, it copies ccmsetup.exe, ccmsetupexe.download, and ccmsetup.log and that's it. The log only shows errors Failed to get DP locations as the expected version from MP 'http://<server>'. Error 0x0 Is there anything I'm missing? Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Attached is ccmsetup.log from an XP Workstation which is failing to install the client. ccmsetup.log
  3. Hi ,i'm trying to install the client on the site server ,the client installs ,but it can't locate its MP(MP is on another server). I have 2 other server in the same subnet where Push install works fine(Boundery is OK) ,Firewalls are disabled. This CM12 site does not publish to AD. This seems to be a problem only on the site server. This is from the location.log: Processing pending site assignment. Assigning to site 'C01' LSIsSiteCompatible : Verifying Site Compatibility for <C01> Retrieved lookup MP [MP.FQDN.COM] from Registry Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from AD No lookup MP(s) from AD Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from DNS Using default DNS suffix FQDN.COM Attempting to retrieve default management points from DNS Found DNS record of MP.FQDN.COM port 443 Lookup Management Points from DNS: Name: 'MP.FQDN.COM' HTTPS: 'Y' ForestTrust: 'N' Retrieved lookup MP(s) from DNS LSGetSiteVersionFromAD : Failed to retrieve version for the site 'C01' (0x80004005) Retrieved lookup MP [MP.FQDN.COM] from Registry Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from AD No lookup MP(s) from AD Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from DNS Using default DNS suffix FQDN.COM Attempting to retrieve default management points from DNS Found DNS record of MP.FQDN.COM port 443 Lookup Management Points from DNS: Name: 'MP.FQDN.COM' HTTPS: 'Y' ForestTrust: 'N' Retrieved lookup MP(s) from DNS LSIsSiteCompatible : Failed to get Site Version from all directories Won't send a client assignment fallback status point message because the last assignment error matches this one. Any idea?

  5. I'm using Client Push Installation Method for install the SCCM Client to users. I tried to push client to users. but it wasn't success. when i check the Log file. i can see errors in CCM_SETUP Log in Client PC. what can be the reason ? " Failed to receive WinHttp response. 6. Hello, I found this forum some weeks ago and it helped me a lot with my SCCM environment! Thanks you! Now my question, we are using SCCM 2007 R2 on a Win2003 server. We roll out SCCM client to all pcs and notebooks. Now we want to deploy it to our server, too. I will use it for software and hardware inventory but will be sure that it isn't possible to install software by sccm client. Is there an option or an registry key which I can use to forbidden installation software by sccm client? Thanks and regards Staudi
