  1. Hi, I'm having a problem with applying drivers to my PowerEdge M600/610 And 620. I have made a package with drivers, sent it to the DP's and added the packed to the task sequence. The problem: The network drivers won't install during OSD. But when i put the drivers on a USB stick and install them manually ( Computer --> Properties --> DeviceManager) It Works. so it's no problem with the driver it self i guess? We are using SCCM 2012 SP1. Anyone seen a similar problem ?
  2. Hi All First of all apology for noobish questions but I'm a realy beginner. I've read most of the articles here about OSD and I feel that more I read, the less I understand. I've 10 different types of hardwared (PCs HP, Dell, Lenovo) in my lab. I've tried to build a "the golden image" for my PCs using task sequence form SCCM 2007 R3. I'm really confused because I don't really understand what steps should I take to do that. As I understood first step is to build reference machine based on unattended.xml file I gather all required drivers and impored them into SCCM database (I have them in Drives section and also creates Drivers Pacages) My question is when shoudl I apply those drivers? I tried to use Auto Apply Drives/Packages task (I'm getting error 0x0000032 during this task) after Setup windows and ConfMrg task , also tried to use Apply Device Drivers task Could anyone please explain it to me steps to prepare OSC task sequence for different types of hardware or at least send me an example task sequece (xml) Regards Greg
  3. I am attempting to import Dell E6510 CAB drivers into SCCM 2012 but everyone of them fails except for the ST Micro driver. Upon completing the import wizard the failure gives the following error: The selected file is not a valid Windows device driver. In the DriverCatalog.log on the SCCM server I see the following: This driver does not have a valid version signature. Failed to initialize driver digest. Code 0xe0000102 Is there a setting in SCCM to accept unsigned drivers during the import process or something that I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Hello. This is my first post here. I have been using SCCM 2012 for a little while now. I have imported about 30-40 different PC models. About 20% of the models "failed". The wizard does not give any indication of any foul play, it all seems like everything went ok. But when I check the Monitoring - Content Status and compare the size (MB) of the package to the folder of the imported drivers, they "often" dont match. If I delete the Driver Package and delete the imported drivers, and do the same import again, I have managed to force some more models that previously had wrong size. I did the import exactly the same way, some times the size is wrong and sometimes the sizes is correct. I have no clue as to why it some times failes and some times work... I tried to look at the DriverCatalog.log, but didnt find anything interesting.. Has any other then me experienced this problem? Can someone please check this Compare this "Monitoring" - "Content Status" - "Size (MB)" to the folder you use for imported driverpackages They should be the same size... PS. The driver with wrong size seem to work fine, so im wondering if this is just a bug to the "Monitoring" - "Content Status" - "Size (MB)" view... sometimes not updating correctly? Thanks
  5. We've got installed SCCM 2012 in our environment and are very happy with it. You're information was very helpful, thank you for that. We've installed the Software Update Point. The computers are receiving the windows 7 updates. So that's great. But when i search on a computer online for updates it founds a driver update. After a little search in google i came on this site: http://blogs.msdn.co..._2d00_2012.aspx in step 13 on this site they configure the 'software update classification' that you want to synchronize. There is a 'Driver Classification' for synchronization. But on my SUP it's not there. Do i need to install something extra?. In your tutorial 'Beta 1 and Beta 2' you can choose for driver synchronization, but in your Tutorial Release Candidate Part 2 Add SUP and WDS it's not there too. Thanks
  6. Hi all, First and foremost, I love this site, it is such a fantastic reference guide and a boon to IT people like myself. I'm working on a new image, (actually, the same one I tweeted you about last week, Niall! As it turns out, we'd been using an incorrect NIC driver which was causing the port to take a long time to come online, and the PXE TFTP transfer was timing out as a result), for an HP 8560p Elitebook, and I've gotten it to boot through PXE to WinPE and get through the Apply Driver Package step of my Task Sequence. Install is Failing at Setup Windows and ConfigMgr with the following: -In setupact.log Now, I've looked through SCCM for the driver in accordance with directions found here: http://support.micro....com/kb/2012889 and I don't see this drive, oem79.inf. I decided to look further and discovered that the file in question is johci.inf, a 1394-Firewire driver, which I would not deem boot-critical, though evidently the installer believes this to be the case. I looked in SCCM and can't find a matching driver, but instead find many variants, all of which are signed. I then checked my boot image and this driver is not added to the boot.wim image either. So, before I disable and remove this driver from the Driver Packages for this model, do you guys have any thoughts? Thanks again for all of everyone's help.
  7. Hi, I have a problem deploying my win7 image to lenovo models 81 and m90z. It used to work on MDT without any problem with the same imported drivers. It currently works with the m55 m57 m58 models. The problem is that network drivers don't seem to install properly so the task install windows but that's it. If I boot into windows with the local admin password I see no drivers installed : network nor video. The drivers I imported are from the lenovo web site and I don't see why it would cause problems. I don't use the driver packages. Do you have any idea on how to work around this ? thanks very much!
  8. Still working on the SCCM 2012 test lab, and recently I added a driver package to the an OSD TS; I'd like to know if these drivers got properly installed and I don't know which logs to look into. Looks like during the OS deployment job the task sequence that is supposed to load the drivers (mainly DELL Optiplex drivers) runs properly, since I don't see any errors, but I just want to make sure since one set of drivers isn't getting installed. I'm assuming the client logs under windows\CCM\logs, but which file? Thanks!
  9. Hello All! I'm trying to inject NIC drivers for a HP ProBook 6560B, as winpe does not get network access due to no driver I need to inject it so I can do a capture of a reference PC. I mount the .WIM image and use the following command to inject a driver: dism /image:"C:\Temp\mount" /add-driver /driver:"C:\temp\drivers\nic\rt64win7.inf" After doing this I get the following error: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools>dism /image:"C:\temp\mount" /add-driv er /driver:"C:\temp\NIC_Driver\E1E6032.inf" Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Image Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Found 1 driver package(s) to install. For more information, check for log files in the <windir>\inf folder of the targ et image. Error: 2 The system cannot find the file specified. The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log When I look at the DISM.LOG file I see the following: 2011-09-16 07:23:31, Info DISM DISM.EXE: <----- Starting Dism.exe session -----> 2011-09-16 07:23:31, Info DISM DISM.EXE: 2011-09-16 07:23:31, Info DISM DISM.EXE: Host machine information: OS Version=6.0.6002, Running architecture=x86, Number of processors=2 2011-09-16 07:23:31, Info DISM DISM.EXE: Executing command line: dism /image:"C:\temp\mount" /add-driver /driver:"C:\temp\NIC_Driver\E1E6032.inf" 2011-09-16 07:23:31, Info DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=380 Getting the collection of providers from a local provider store type. - CDISMProviderStore::GetProviderCollection 2011-09-16 07:23:31, Info DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=380 Provider has not previously been encountered. HRESULT=80070002 I've had luck injecting other drivers but i've read that some Intel NIC drivers have issues being injected into SCCM and WinPE. I'm just unfamiliar with how these logs work to know if something is wrong w/ the Driver or something i'm doing. I've searched online for things and nothing i've researched seems to be like this probelm even the error message I've searched for I don't get really that great results. Any help would be appriciated. Best Regards!
