  2. All of a sudden (last month I didn't have this problem) I get an error when trying to update some deployment packages or even create new ones for Windows 7 update deployment. I run though all the steps and when I get to the end (See Attachment). Anyone have an idea? I've checked permissions on the folder where the updates reside.
  3. Hi all, I want to share a issue I've been faced with in our sccm infrastructure, for which I hope someone has a solution. I've tried to setup a operating System Deployment Task sequence, using pxe, but unfortunately I've hit a snag. Once distributing the Boot images to the Distribution point, it just says in progress, and nothing hapens, although I have set it to automatically distribute. I'm picking up the following issue when doing a CMtrace on the smsprov.log file ( This issue shows on each reattempt) : I'm also getting the following message in status message viewer, however I have given full access to "Everyone" to the directories. I have not set "Enable unknown computer support" , as I usually import my computer by Mac adress, and then assign it to he collection where the "Advertisement/deployment" applies. Is this maybe what is causing my issues, and what are the implications of activating this? Thank you in advance.

  5. I have created a package in SCCM 2007 to deploy a software update. I have the package complete, updated distribution point, advertisement is working as it should to the clients. When the clients choose to install the program they error out and it says download is not available. I searched some logs and found an error code (error 0x800700ce)..Only thing i could find online was it had to do with the specified path is to long. And a fix offered...runing it from the server vs download and run locally did nothing. Please help. I need to get this software update deployed. Erik
  6. Hi, I am having issues trying to import one of my test clients into SCCM 2012 RTM. I have been using this physical machine repeatedly to test against the OS deployment\capture sequences within SCCM. Until now I could import the device via a single computer or file based import using MAC &\or GUID, but now it keeps returning ErrorCode=2152205056 with description "unable to save changes". I think the error is related to a MAC recorded in the SQL database that is not getting deleted correctly when I delete the device from within SCCM, but I cannot confirm this as SQL is completely unknown to me. I know it is not a question of rights, as I can still import other devices, delete the import and then reimport them. Does anyone have any idea of how to check this from within SCCM or perhaps via a SQL query? Cheers & thanks in advance, AB
  7. History: Everything was working fine. I have two images I deploy. Yesterday, I captured another image for a different lab as these machines need Adobe CS5 and that's a huge application to package up and deploy to a lab at once. After creating this image, I created a TS for it and told it to use the MDT x86 boot image. My other TS's use the normal x86 boot image. After the TS was created, one of my images stopped working throwing up the TS error shown in the subject. It happens when it applies the data image to the formatted partition. I've tried this on multiple machines and get the same error each time. What struck me as odd was that the old image TS was now trying to utilize the MDT boot image instead of the standard one it was set for. So far what I have done is delete the new TS that was created for the new image, I've deleted the old TS for the image that was erroring and re-created the TS. That hasn't worked. I'm in the process now of capturing a new image and will create a new TS for it. Anyone have any other ideas? Basically I have 15 people who are trying to mass image machines that are sitting around doing nothing right now.
  8. Ran across this today, see attached. Any ideas? How can you manually install the Endpoint Protection Client if needed? The reason I ask is during mass imaging (we have over 5000 to image) how long should it take to get the Endpoint client on it? Some have been getting it fairly fast and now it seems it's taking 20 min or so.
  9. Hello, First I'd like to say thanks for this site. It has been incredibly helpful and has been a blessing. I'm running MDT 2010 update 1 and I'm having an intermittent but relatively consistent issue when trying to deploy Office 2010 and 2007. I have a base Windows 7 image deployed and an install applicaiton task sequence for the Office product. Sometimes the Office installation fails (other applications install fine) and I get an unexpected return code 20 on the LTI summary page. The application install log file shows the following: LIS failed to cache download "{90140000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}-C" resource "ProPsWW.cab". Cache Error 0x80070040 Source Resolution aborted Error: LIS: Failed to cache download "{90140000-0011-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}-C" resource "ProPsWW.cab". Type: 20::FileNotFound. What I see in the Window7 app log is that Office get's installed...then errors, then uninstalls itself. In the deployment share, ProPsWW.cab is in the appropriate spot with the appropriate permissions. Again, sometimes the install works, sometimes it doesn't. I created an Application Install only Task Sequence...and with this...sometimes it works, sometimes it errors out with the same reason as mentioned above. I believe when MDT/LTI goes through the deployment process it copies the applications files over to the MSOcache. Are some files not properly copied over? Do I even have the correct understanding? Any help would be very appreciated. Michael.
  10. I am attempting to capture an x64 image of Windows 7 using SCCM and an image capture disk. I am getting an error that indicates that the user account that I am using to capture and write the image to a directory on the SCCM server does not have proper permissions to to write images to the directory in question. I have checked the NT permissions for the account that I am using and it does in fact have full permissions (this is a Domain Admin acocunt) Here are the steps I am following to failure - insert the disk - enter unc path to directory .wim file is to be written to - enter some other info (version, notes, etc...) - start the image capture process - watch machine reboot - watch the death of my SCCM x64 dream as I see the 0x800704cf one more time All indications that I have fond searching Google are that the account doens't have permission but it does. Any help or even useful ideas would be most appreciated.
  11. Hallo everyone, i try to setup the RC2.
