We use Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager to image computers. We have new HP elitebook x360 1040 g8 laptops and we are unable to image them. We added the new Hp client pxe park along with the nic, chipset and storage drivers and still cannot image. We updated the boot image to include the above drivers and the IP4 loads and stops at where the MECM screen will appear. The laptop just sits there no matter how long we wait. we are able to image G6 laptops without any issues. any help would be great!!!

Hello, is it possible to directly load and boot into the Windows Recovery Environment over PXE? To apply repair-tools or diagnosis for example. Our company is trying to accomplish this to support our technicians whenever a user is having some kind of trouble booting his standard image. The technician then can apply the RE over PXE and try to repair the users system. However I'm not sure how to make a winRE deployment over SCCM. What I have done is creating a task sequence where the according .wim file is loaded as a boot-image. When testing the task sequence just runs through and shuts down or restarts the computer. What I want is for the computer to remain inside the Recovery Environment and to be able to apply repair options etc. With WDS it's pretty easy to accomplish this. I haven't figured out how to do it with SCCM, as you are only able to apply task sequences and not boot-images directly. Im glad for any help.

Has anyone managed to get a Microsoft Surface Go2 (LTE Model) to PXE boot successfully?, I have just got a model in to test and I'm unable to get it to PXE boot correctly, it just sits at waiting for approval. I've tried booting using a surface dock 2, i have also tried with the official USB C adaptor and it wont boot. I've updated the firmware to the latest version, I have also added the MAC in the hierarchy settings in SCCM to allow duplicate hardware identifiers. I'm currently running on v 2010 and ADK 2004.

I need some help :) I upgraded to current branch 2006 and now pxe is broken. I updated from 1806 directly to 2006. I upgraded windows ADK and and WinPE and deleted all old boot images, now I have them in SCCM as the only images (both x64 and x86). I've distributed them to my distribution points, it immediately says it's successful to my main sccm server/distribution point but it fails to distribute to my remote DPs. I'll get to that later. I've enabled PXE on the distribution point and I checked the box to "enable pxe support for clients" and everything else on this page is checked including "Enable a PXE responder without windows deployment service". I do NOT have a remoteinstall folder any longer, which i know is correct since i'm not using WDS, and the main DP DOES have the ConfigMgr PXE Responder Service now and is running. I'm getting hella errors on smspxe.log and i don't know what to do going forward. I honestly feel like the new boot image files are not in a place where they can be read and used and I'm stuck. Here's the errors i'm getting in smspxe.log when I try to do a pxe boot: I've uninstalled pxe/reinstalled and deleted the boot images and re-added them / redistributed them and i'm stuck. Anyone have any clues/pointers? This is for k-12 education and we're behind on needing to reimage laptops for some students. Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Hi everyone, I'm going to tell you my problem if you can help me !!! My environment: Sccm 2012 I have to distribute windows 10 and I am testing with a virtual machine. I configured the DP by enabling the PXE and not WDS. DHCP configured (66-67) When the boot starts on the client I get the error you see in the attached file. Also on the SMSPXE.log file comes the message: not able to open SMSBoot \ x86 \ wdsnbp.com I don't know what to do anymore .... help me thank you very much!

Hi All, I am hoping someone can help. my SCCM knowledge is not very advanced still learning. The company SCCM expert left the company he was in the middle of providing a DP to an outside company to use as a PXE DP ( to build new desktops before being delivered.) He set it all up but it never worked, now its fallen in my hands to get it up and running. When the desktops try to pxe boot it fails. The pxe logs display these errors "Unsuccessful in getting MP key information. 80072ee2." PXE::MP_initializeTransport failed;0x80072ee2 PXE::MP_Lookupdevice faile; 0x80070490 Not in SSL Socket ' connect' failed 8007274c sending with winhttp failed 80072ee2 I tried the browser MP tests and both mplist and mpcert failed. Hello, guys! I have a problem with my SCCM 1806 Primary Site enviroment in attachment. I already reinstalled PXE, WDS twice, recreated all boot images at Primary SCCM server But it didn't helped. Same time we have additional site server distribution point whith PXE enabled at other office and same task sequence works just fine without any error. Hello, I am trying to find a way to setup our server to allow us to PXE boot our computers for imaging. However, we will have a workstation laptop running Win 10 with MDT 2013 installed. We want to send the wim files to the laptop and unicast from the laptop to the computers. For example, I have a lab of 25 computers, with a network switch in the same room. The laptop will be connected to the same switch, the computers will PXE boot using our WDS server, but will pull the image from the wim file stored on the laptop or send the image to the laptop. Has anyone done this before? This is on a local campus, with multiple buildings, and have more than one tech with their own issued laptop. Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. We are currently still running Windows 7 in our labs and the server is Server 2012 R2 Datacenter, running MDT build 8443.

We have trouble using PXE in our environment. Our setup: SCCM 2016 management point in remote datacentre (running on Windows Server 2016) SCCM 2016 distribution point + OSD in local serverroom (running on Windows Server 2016). On this server, 2 network cards are configured. One is connected to the domain, the other is connected to a seperate 'installation LAN'. We also configured DHCP on this server with a binding only to the 'installation LAN NIC'. We also configured DHCP options 60, 66 and 67. On this local server, we installed Hyper-V to run a virtual machine which we can use to create a clean Build and Capture using OSD. However, we cannot boot this virtual machine into PXE. It doesn't seem to get an IP address from DHCP. If we boot up a laptop to the installation LAN, then there is no issue booting up in to WinPE. We've tried several things: Change WDS settings; (set PXE response to respond to all computers / Configured DHCP options / Authorized server in to DHCP / let DHCP give out the multicast address) Changed DHCP options (removed option 60 (PXEClient) / Configured DHCP option to also use BOOTP) Configured different virtual switches in Hyper-V (Internal / external / private), configured RRAS to create a shared NIC, disabled DCHP guard, disabled 'Protected Network' Added computer manually in to SCCM using MAC address. We are running out of options. If I boot up a VM on the laptop using Hyper-V, I don't have any issues. However, we would like to use Hyper-V on the server itself to create images because it is a central and permanent solution. Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

Hi friends, I had an already known machine in ConfigMgr and I wanted to deploy a new operating system to the machine. I made a tasksequence deployment to "All Unknown Computers" and deleted a machine under "Devices" but it keep saying device is in the database. I have waited for like 2-3 days, restartet WDS and did a query to see if the MAC address is in the datatabase but it can't be found. How do I make the machine "unknown"? Hello All, I am following the SCCM CB guide by Niall Brady. AD01 - DC+DHCP+DNS -running WS 2016 CM01 - SCCM +PXE -running WS 2016, SCCM CB 1702, ADK 1702, SQL 2016 I am facing weird issue while setting up OS deployment.. The PXE server is not responding to unknown computers. I have done below to rectify the issue: Manually imported MAC and GUID into SCCM Removed WDS server manually, deleted RemoteInstall folder,Restarted SCCM server. Re-enabled WDS then PXE role re-added. Ensured Boot WIM is deployed to DP from DataSource Tab making it availbale for PXE booting Still when I boot Gen1 or Gen2 Hyper-V machine, no PXE booting happens. I am seeing DHCP Failed message on screen while DHCP is functional. I even tried same setup using Virtualbox thinking issue with Hyper-v but issue persists on VirtualBox as well. What I observed that if I setup below, standalone WDS works flawlessly, machines are getting IP address, boot images are downloading. AD01 - DC+DHCP+DNS (running WS 2016) WDS01 - WDS (running WS 2016) Not sure, what happens when PXE is enabled. This was always worked earlier but recently facing issue when tried on SCCM CB 1702/1706/1710. Any help is highly appreciated as I am wasting countless hours troubleshooting this since last week.

Hi all, after I've updated my SCCM fro 1706 to 1710, I'm not longer able to boot my machines from PXE, with error "PXE-E16: No offers were received". I've already tried to redistribute my boot image and update the ADK to the last version, checked taht WDS service was running and rebooted the server... but nothing seems to work. Help please! Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to learn about SCCM and deploying Windows 10 using PXE and MDT, however my clients never seem to get to the task sequence part, instead they just reboot when it says "Preparing network connections". I am able to stop the reboot by pressing F8 and it shows I have an ip, disk looks good using diskpart, can ping sccm fqdn and I'm able to use net use to map a share. I have crawled every possible forum and posts and nothing seems to help, and I really feel like everything is correct and should be working. I hope to get some help from you experts. The clients I have tried to deploy to are a Dell Optiplex 7040 client and Vmware VMs. I downloaded all the necessary drivers for the Optiplex 7040 and the vmxnet3 driver for the VM which I injected into the WinPE x64 boot image. I also tried to PXE boot without any driver in the boot image. I created a user in AD named SCCM_NAA which has been used as the network access account. The firewall has been completely turned off on the SCCM server. Deployed task sequence to All unknown computers and a collection called Windows 10 Deployment containing PC02. SMSTS.log (included in post) - All clients always show the same three possible errors PxeGetPxeData failed with 0x80070005 RegOpenKeyExW is unsuccessful for Software\Microsoft\SMS\Task Sequence GetTsRegValue() is unsuccessful. 0x80070002. Hi all, this is my first message here, hope you can guide me cause this driving me nuts for days ! config summary : SCCM 1702, 1 primary site, 2 MP , 800+ sitesytems ans DP Since few days, on some of ours DPs (windows 2008R2) we cannot PXE boot computer set up as UEFI, while it still boot for BIOS computers. We receive the following error : PXE-E16 No Offer received We have allready uninstall and reinstall PXE from scmm console, restart the server but same issue. Also tried to disable netbios over TCP/IP as seen on some forum with no change. The system seems to hang at "looking for bootimage <pkgID> , please see attached file. I am encountering an issue with a Surface Book. The device PXE boots fine, and it pops a message like it's going to start and prompt me for the password. Then, it never pops up, and just reboots. any suggestions? the drivers are distributed, and in my task sequence.

Whenever a machine tries to PXE for some reason WDS just doesn't respond. Eventually it just times out. Where shall I begin :S any help would be awesome.

I'm trying to set up a task sequence to deploy Windows 10 via PXE. We have SCCM 2012 SP2 CU4 running on Server 2012 (not R2), with WDS 6.5.9200.16384, ADK 10.1.14393.0, and MDT 6.3.8443.1000. It's s single site and single server. I'm building the image from the official v1607 Enterprise ISO in a VM, entering System Audit Mode and doing some minimal config, and then using a freshly-built SCCM Capture Media ISO to handle the sysprep and image capture. Once captured, I create a basic (non-MDT) task sequence and deploy it as available to the unknown computers group for media and PXE only. If I have the task sequence join the domain and install the Configuration Manager client, everything works fine. I end up with an inaccessible defaultuser0 account on the machine, but I can log in with a domain account and do what I need to do / give it to a user. However, if I have the task sequence not join the domain, then I can't log into the machine after the image is deployed. It does the specialize pass and then does the "checking for critical updates" step, reboots, and then it gets to a login screen for "defaultuser0" and I can't log in. I've checked on the source VM after another fresh build from the installation ISO, and the defaultuser0 account seems to get created as part of the Windows 10 Enterprise v1607 installation. Even if I delete this account before capturing the image, the defaultuser0 account shows up after deployment. (We do everything in system audit mode and do not create any accounts.) I've tried setting the options within the task sequence to enable the admin account and set the password, but it's still not enabled and I can't do anything. If I try restarting in safe mode or enabling the command prompt, the only account listed/selectable is "defaultuser0" and I can't log into it at all. I've also tried adding net user command line steps to the task sequence to add a new local user and add it to the local administrators group, but this causes the task sequence to fail with 0x00000002. The task sequence that doesn't join the domain also does not install configuration manager - this task sequences is for machines that will be off the domain and off the network and not centrally managed. My guess is these steps can't run in the WinPE environment, but I was unable to find any relevant info in the smsts log. If I could get the task sequence / capture media to trigger the standard OOBE, I think that would work fine for our purposes. But I don't know how I can do that. The capture media doesn't seem to have any options I can control for the sysprep step. Could I just remove the "Apply Windows Settings" step in the task sequence entirely to achieve the same result? Again, we're not using MDT because this is a simple, bare bones image and task sequence. Our goal is to PXE boot and install Windows 10 Enterprise with updates and a few applications pre-installed. For domain-joined machines, they get policy after booting into the OS and get all the other stuff that they get. For machines off the domain, all we need is access to a local admin account so we can log in and do a light touch config, depending on each user. If this isn't possible without MDT, then we'll look at creating the MDT packages and task sequences. Thanks.

I'm trying to set up a task sequence to deploy Windows 10 via PXE to both UEFI and BIOS clients. PXE booting to BIOS clients seems to work fine. When PXE booting UEFI client, it loads the boot file and then throws out 0xc0000225 complaining about \Windows\Syetem32\boot\winload.efi . We're deploying the task sequence to the "Unknown Computers" group, and we only care about x64 clients. The task sequence has an x64 boot image, and is the last task sequence deployed. Do I have to do something special to allow both BIOS and UEFI clients to boot successfully at the same time (and using the same task sequence)? I came across this video which sets up policies and defines different files to load based on vendor class, but I haven't tried any of it yet. We're using SCCM and not WDS directly, so I wasn't sure if it was appropriate. Our DHCP server is the same as the SCCM site server, as well. The only DHCP options I have set are 003 (Router), 006 (DNS Servers), 015 (DNS Domain Name), and 060 (PXEClient). Thanks.

So I find today that in trying to test a new TS that when booting PXE, I get an error screen from WDS that just only displays the error code 0xc000000f. Digging around, I've found some that say it's a WDS problem and another that says it's an SSL issue because the MP is SSL but the DP is not. One article states that if the MP is SSL, the DP also has to be using the PKI Cert as well instead of the self-signed. Another article mentions no problems with the DP being non-SSL. Hi guys, I'm actually struggling with a question. With Config Manager 1606, is there any way to have multiple boot images available, and be able to selct one during PXE? Regardless of all my attempts one boot image is automatically selected (the last distributed) I would be glad to read your ideas
