  1. Hey, Need some quick help please guys, I'm doing a 1606 to 1702 in console upgrade that has failed on me. Error code 0x87D20b15 I had some issues initially when the nt authority\system account was called to access the sql db, which I resolved, however I can't seem to get past this error... Info Executing SQl server command <EXEC sp_RenewInvGroupViews> ERROR: Failed to renew inventory views and rbac functions Failed to Update database. Then later I get the error code noted in the title. Any ideas? I've hit a wall on this one.. I can post the whole CMUpdate.log up if you like, but there are no other errors
  2. We are running Config Man 1602. When running the RBAViewer application that comes with the Configuration Manager Tools, using the Run As button will work fine if the user you are looking up is a full admin. Every other user, or user that part of a group crashes the application... every time. The Event Viewer (first quote) and then the application popup (second quote) shows the following: I'm not aware of any updates to the ConfigMgrTools app. Anyone else experience this? It's an incredibly useful tool and I'm only going to be needing to use it more in the future.
  3. Hello all, For a client, we have a number of small offices with a local IT resource in charge of the systems there, something thing 45 offices. We've created query based collections to limit the local IT to seeing only their computers in the console, and this is working fine. However, we also have a large number of Software Distribution collections, and we want local IT to be able to place the users in those collections to deploy software. How do I allow the local IT user to do so, without having to manually add Application Deployment Manager to each one of these collections, for each one of the offices? Is there a better way? I'm still trying to understand Role based access and control, and did extensive googling before posting here. Thanks,
  4. First I want to say that I am relatively new to SCCM. My office is looking at using it to deploy Windows 7. However a different office is responsible for installing software updates and patches. They will also be using SCCM 2007 to accomplishe these tasks. I want to know if SCCM 2007 can be configured with different rights based on the user accessing it. For example - I would like to set it up so that Operator1 can only deploy Operating System Images but cannot istall software updates and Operator2 can deploy software updates and patches. Is this type of stylized control available in SCCM 2007? Chuck Vinnedge
