install sccm 2012 R2

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone , i have decommissioned my SMS 2003 completely, i have deleted the computer account and all entries in dns.

I want to install SCCM 2012 R2 on windows server 2012. I dont want to integrate it with WSUS.

I have a System Management container in Active directory schema created for SMS 2003, is it safe to delete the container and recreate it.

can i use the same site code for SCCM 2012,which i have used for sms 2003.

on windows 7 computers i have sms advanced client installed , will SCCM 2012 will remove it automatically when it installs its agent.

please do guide me how to install SCCM 2012 R2( without integrating with WSUS)

1- Just Assign full permissions for the new sccm server on the System management Container.

2-you can use the same site code in case u deleted all entries inside System management Container.

3- when u install the SCCM you can push the sccm client on the windows 7 machine with no problem

yes of course, do it. How you decide to install the client later is all part of your overall plan.Have you seen the guides here yet ?

i did not see the guide of CM12 as of yet. i have decommissioned my SMS 2003 but my windows 7 client computers still have SMS 2003 advanced client installed on them.

i am not sure CM12 agent setup will uninstall SMS advanced client, i know that it will uninstall CM07 agent. i am confused if SMS2003 advanced client will create any problem
