mdt 2010 is great for those people who do not yet have SMS or SCCM in their enterprise, it allows administrators to image pcs with applications and drivers using task sequences,

 

SCCM on the other hand does all this and a whole lot more, think of the SCCM end as the management interface for your pcs,

 

mdt is a toolkit and nothing more.
