Removing old SCOM 2007 server from AD

Question

Hi all,

I've inherited an enviornment that has SCOM 2012 R2 running, although not configured to any great depth.

They had MOM and then SCOM 2007 running, which they removed a while ago but didn't do a clean uninstall, so there's a bunch of OU's and Securty Groups (SCP's) related to MOM/SCOM 2007 which are still in AD.

The problem is the servers are automatically looking at the old MOM & SCOM servers which was shutdown and removed along time ago.

I want to know what I can remove to clean up the old MOM/SCOM installation, and hopefully stop the servers looking at the old SCOM server which no longer exists.

Thanks

Can you provide some more detail about your SCOM infrastructure (i.e. number of MS's, etc.)

You might want to start here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh241293.aspx

That has the upgrade checklists which might help identify if something was missed during the migration.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Number of MS's, what do you mean?

I'll take a look at that URL, although I'm not sure it will help as they just shutdown the one ones and built a new 2012 R2 environment, with the old bits and pieces still in AD - that's what I need to try and clean up.
