Problems with Reporting services point

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I tried to install the Reporting services point, but i am stuck and do not know where.

I have a sccm server and a seperate sql server.

I configured the reporting services on the sql server.

and i can go to web service url and the web portal url.

then i went to my SCCM server and install the reporting role on my SQL (site system server)

but nothing .....

I thought that the folder which we named while setting up the reporting role should appear in the web portal url, but nothing ....

when i go back to the sql server, there is a folder created SMS and in the SMS folder there is a bin and scripts folder, but nothing more, .....

in the srsrpMSI.log file i see following errors:

Property(S): ErrorDialog = ErrorDialog

Property(S): SmsSRSRPDetectDowngrade_ErrorMessage = A newer version of the SMS Reporting Services Point is already installed

Property(S): InstallErrorDialog_Title = Setup Aborted
Property(S): InstallErrorDialog_SubTitle = Setup failed
Property(S): InstallErrorDialog_Info = Setup encountered an error and could not continue.

MSI (s) (70:D8) [13:28:40:358]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: ConfigMgr Reporting Services Point. Product Version: 5.00.8412.1000. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Installation success or error status: 1603.

Am i correct that the issue here is that the msi file is allready installed with a newer version and therefore it cancels the integration?

I don't know how to solve this......

Do i remove the reporting service from my sql and reinstall it?

Yes i am posting in 2 different forums and now i see you are the one that answers these questions in both forums.

Yes i am posting in 2 different forums and now i see you are the one that answers these questions in both forums.

Since you are posting in two different places and you are NOT posting the exact same details to both forums AND you are doing different things between each forums.

You must pick one forum to work on your problem and abandon the other forum post.
