Recommended Posts

Hello guys ! Can we collect other assets attached to PC in SCCM 1606 , Assets like ( Monitors , USB devices , printers , scanners .. etc ) showing the attached PC and details like serial number for company asset management and to appear in hardware Asset intelligence reports .Also can SCCM discover other assets with SNMP protocol or JetDirect .

Sure you can collect  those type of details but in some case you will need 3rd party add-on to get reliable results.

The SNMP will not get your anything reliably and CMCB will not use the JetDirect protocol.

Thanks for your response , Could you recommend a 3rd party add-on to get reliable results for monitors and USB devices to be shown in some sort of reports with all the details .

A.Kassem To collect monitor details you could setup this - http://exar.ch/collecting-monitor-serial-numbers-with-sccm/

Take note - unfortunately it will not inventory Monitors that are connected to some models of KVM splitters.

Thanks a lot for your response , do you have a recommended solution for other attached devices like USB devices , appreciate your cooperation .

Keep in mind that I do work for Enhansoft.

I will point you to Monitor Information Report (MIR) and Enhance Web reporting (EWR) They will do most of what you are looking for, Mir for Monitors and EWR for Printers . As for USB, have you looked at the built-in reporting for this?
