kcghonda1984 0 Posted January 5, 2018 Report post Posted January 5, 2018 I'm having an issue resolving endpoint protection - some people update, but the majority do not update. we have to update manually. On several of the machine, we are getting Failed to send request to <host>, error 0x2ee7, which i have looked up and shows the DNS could be set incorrectly, which it is not. Any suggestion on what to look for? i've looked it all logs. Failed in WinHttpSendRequest API, ErrorCode = 0x2ee7 FSPStateMessage 4/5/2015 1:53:36 AM 4844 (0x12EC) [CCMHTTP] ERROR: URL=HTTP://SCCM01.XXX.YYYYY/SMS_FSP/.sms_fsp, Port=80, Options=224, Code=12007, Text=ERROR_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED FSPStateMessage 4/5/2015 1:53:36 AM 4844 (0x12EC)
adurrant 0 Posted March 12, 2018 Report post Posted March 12, 2018 Hello, Did you ever resolve this?
GarthMJ 125 Posted March 12, 2018 Report post Posted March 12, 2018 That error is always a networking error, DNS or Firewall generally. Start there.
kcghonda1984 0 Posted March 12, 2018 Report post Posted March 12, 2018 No, I am still trying to figure it out. There is no networking, DNS or firewall issue. I've done the flushdns, etc.
GarthMJ 125 Posted March 12, 2018 Report post Posted March 12, 2018 if you open the URL in a browser on that computer does it work? Do you have a Proxy server in place?
kcghonda1984 0 Posted March 13, 2018 Report post Posted March 13, 2018 we actually go through our SCCM server; these machines do not reach the internet.
GarthMJ 125 Posted March 13, 2018 Report post Posted March 13, 2018 ok but if you open the URL HTTP://SCCM01.XXX.YYYYY/SMS_FSP/.sms_fsp on one of these computers work?
kcghonda1984 0 Posted March 13, 2018 Report post Posted March 13, 2018 no, the user doesn't have access to it. I'm assuming the sccm01, is the server?
kcghonda1984 0 Posted March 13, 2018 Report post Posted March 13, 2018 this is in the error: WARNING: WinHttp: SendRequestUsingProxy failed for <http://download.microsoft.com/v11/2/windowsupdate/redir/v6-win7sp1-wuredir.cab>. error 0x80072ee2
GarthMJ 125 Posted March 14, 2018 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 First off that is not the same URL as above. Secondly. In the URL above, can you in a browser download this cab file? if not this is your problem. There is a network issue between the client and the URL. kcghonda1984 0 Posted March 14, 2018 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 NO, that's not the same URL. It was from the log file.
GarthMJ 125 Posted March 14, 2018 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 Again, my point being if you take the URL and paste it into IE does it work? It should work. If it doesn't work then that shows you the problem. If it does work, do it again with the Local System account and IE, does that work?
GarthMJ 125 Posted March 14, 2018 Report post Posted March 14, 2018 May this GIF will help explain things. Does the URL work in IE or chrome? It should work.
