PXE booting fails on Dell Latitiude E6410

Question

Having a major issue here. I can't PXE boot my Dell Latitude E6410's to perform OSD. The following is my system:

Server 2008 SP2

SCCM 2007 SP2 R2

WAIK for Windows 7

I can PXE boot Dell GX 780 computers.

I added the Windows 7 PE drivers to my boot images. I have downloaded them from Intel and Dell.

I used the F8 in my boot images. IPCONFIG shows no IP address. I believe the drivers are wrong for the NIC. When I boot into Windows, the NIC shows up as as Intel 82577LM, yet all the PE Images indicate an Intel 82567LM.

The following is my smsts log:

hi Bob

are you sure you added the right drivers to both boot images, and then updated the boot images to their dp's ?

Hi Bob,

We have gone through this exact problem. It seems to happen with any of the drivers that dell supply, both the specific driver and the driver in the SCCM pack that Dell supply.

The way I got around it is to download the driver from the Intel site and use that. Make sure that you have removed all other NIC drivers from the boot image then add the drivers from Intel (you will need to extract the drivers from the .EXE download). Then make sure that the DP's are updated.
