JLD Posted September 2, 2010 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 I have been trying to get a test system to boot with a PXE setup. Basics on the install: Windows 2008 R2 SCCM 2007 SP2 I have followed all of the instructions, and installed WDS without setting it up. Then installed the ConfigMgr PXE service point. I then opened the Operating System Deployment entry, went to Boot Images and updated the Distribution Points for both Boot image (x64) and Boot image (x86) to point to the SCCM 2007 server for both standard distribution and SMSPXEIMAGES$. At that point I verified that the folders were populated with the proper files. They are C:\RemoteInstall\SMSBoot\x64 abortpxe.com bootmgfw.efi bootmgr.exe pxeboot.com pxeboot.n12 wdsnbp.com C:\RemoteInstall\SMSBoot\x86 abortpxe.com bootmgr.exe pxeboot.com pxeboot.n12 wdsnbp.com The network helpers are present: pointing ot the server testserver.test.local and correct file for booting SMSBoot\x64\pxeboot.com The test computer boots ot the PXE loader, it checks out an IP address and starts the boot process. Looking at the log file: C:\Program Files (x86)\SMS_CCM\Logs\smspxe.log I see that it receives a connection and sends requested information. DizzleSizzle Posted September 2, 2010 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 i would first try changing your ip helper. you should use \SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com rather than SMSBoot\x64\pxeboot.com. even if you are using x64 images you still need to use the x86. DMobley232 Posted March 22, 2013 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 What fixed it? Using IP Helper or \SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com rather than SMSBoot\x64\pxeboot.com? Gah, that seems to have solved part of the issue. Thanks very much!
