SCCM XP to 7 Offline Hardlinking Question.

Question

After the new OS is installed and the data is migrated I no longer have a C drive. Everything is now on D. C is no longer there. I need to everything to be put back on the C drive. Is there a way to fix this? I've been looking, but haven't seen it. I could have missed it, if so could someone kindly point me in the correct directions. I have attached my TS.

Cheers,

Mikey

on your systems that you are migrating, do they have any reserved partitions (Dell or bitlocker) ?

No. In my test environment I am using a VM right now. But In a few weeks we will be upgrading IBM t500's and 510's from XP to 7. I have run this twice, with the same outcome.

btw thanks for replying for quick ;)

Are you using a standard install.wim or your own captured wim image?

(BTW I deleted your other post in another topic, as it was the same question)

We are using a standard install.wim. For troubleshooting purposes I will import a new install.win and update my TS with it and then test.

The standard install.wim will always install on D...

I did not know that. Thank you. I need to figure out how to change this if possible. Can anyone point me in the right directions? If this questions is noobish forgive me. I am new to this.

Thanks,

Mikey

Then you need to Capture your own WIM image. Take a look at this part of the forum, there are some how to's: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/forum/93-deploying-operating-systems/

Thank you for the help. My xp to 7 is now working as it should. Everything installs on C. I have a feeling I am going to run into some issues when we roll into the production portion of our migration. We have a lot of IBM t500 and 510 which have oem partitions for utilities. I have a feeling they are going to through off the letting.
