Single XP build for multiple hardware

I am new to WDS and was wondering if I was to crete a base image of XP with Office and other apps installed could this be pushed to lots of different PC's ? would save having to have loads of imsges which we curently have with GHOST and its messy..

 

This would be the most ideal scenario and any help would be appriciated.

Check out the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2010 Update 1 -- this has everything you need to get started (including documentation).

You could also check out SmartDeploy. It integrates nicely with WDS and allows you to create one image that can be used on any hardware. The great thing about this solution is that the hardware independence is done with Platform Packs that are created by the software vendor. You simply need to visit their site and download the pack for your specific model, no more messing with drivers!
