using SCCM 2012 RC in a LAB - Part 9. Adding an Application, editing a Deployment Type, Copying the Deploy Task Sequence

Recommended Posts

So, let me preface this post by saying that I am pretty new to SCCM. I'm in the process of setting up the RTM in production but am trying to get the basics figured out. I'm having diffuculty getting my applications to deploy to my collections. When viewing the Deployments tab (or Deployment Status) my application says it has 0.0% Compliance (see attachement). Forgive my ignorance, but what else must I do so-as to ensure my applications deploy to collectins. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Please tell me that SCCM 2012 can install .exe silently, I thought SCCM would have a "snapshot"/"record" function so that you could capture the install of a program and its settings, save this and deploy the software with these settings included... Like setting Firefox default browser and setting a default homepage in firefox. Like is possible with this tool: http://www.remotepctools.com/pc_network_deploy/features.html

Yes you can. You need to know what the silent switch is for that particular exe-file, though. Google can help you.

Has anyone had it where the menu selection doesn't display i have checked several logs and the only way to make it work is to have the device in a mandatory deployment device collection otherwise it goes through all the policies and ignores the available selections. I can post the log if that helps, but I'm stuck in bad way.

Got an issue with MS office 2010 deployment. created a package on deployed it. clients can see the package and installs it silently. (i can see setup.exe running in task manager). but its gets stuck there. last of the logs show:
