how can i determine which version of SCCM 2007 is installed

Recommended Posts

From the SCCM 2007 ConfigMgr Console --> Site Database --> Site Management --> right click your site + Properties

you should see the version number there (see screenshot)

sccmsp1.JPG

Help --> About System Center Configuration Manager displays the same correct version number.

Below are the current versions of SCCM 2007

For RTM, it is 4.00.5931.0000

For SP1, it is 4.00.6221.1000

For SP2, it is 4.00.6487.2000

so based on this, the screenshot above is from a SCCM 2007 SP1 system.

Is R2 installed ?

If you right click on Site Properties you'll see the version number plus you can identify if R2/R3 are installed - see below

What about Beta and Release Candiate versions ?

For SP2 beta, it is 4.00.6425.2000

For SP2 RC, it is 4.00.6468.2001

cheers

Isn't the R2 in the above image from the user entered Site description?

depends on where you look,

What does it mean if the version number from the Help box is different than the version number from the Properties box? If I go to Help -> About SCCM, it tells me I have SP1. If I right click my site and click Properties, it tells me I have R2 SP2 (which is what it should be, as we just upgraded last week).

probably means you are running the sccm console remotely (ie: separate to the sccm server) and the console is still at sp1,

you will need to upgrade it to sp2

Well, it's a virtual server which I remote into using Remote Desktop, but I open the console directly from the server. When I go to Help -> About MMC, it says I'm running version 5.2, SP2. I don't think it's a big deal though, so I won't worry about it.

Thanks for your response. :)

well the first two windows are whats important, the last one is merely your version of windows server MMC,

so, in the first screenshot it looks like the SCCM console is reporting as SP1, so whatever computer you are on verify that the CONSOLE is upgraded to SP2

Ah, I understand now. When you first said "console", I thought you were talking about the Microsoft Management Console. I didn't know that the site Properties were different than the SCCM Properties. Thanks for clearing that up.

Is there a way to determine what version of R3 is installed (Beta/RTM/RTM Eval)?

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 RTM 4.00.5931.0000

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 SP1 SP1 4.00.6221.1000

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 SP1 (Updated with KB977203)SP1 4.00.6221.1193 This update (KB 977203) may be run against SP1 or SP2 clients.

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 R2 R2 no change The R2 feature add-on requires at least SP1, and can be installed after SP2.

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 SP2 SP2 4.00.6487.2000

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 SP2(Updated with KB977203) SP2 4.00.6487.2111 This update (KB 977203) may be run against SP1 or SP2 clients.

System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007 R3 R3 4.00.6487.2157 The R3 update requires SP2 Client.

I have installed the latest version of R3 but my client version number is still 4.00.6487.2125.

I had the beta of R3 installed previously. I removed it and upgraded to the RTM but my client version will not increment.

Hi

I have just installed SCCM 2007 successfully i think :) and when i try to install Forefront Endpoint protection 2010 using the following media "en_forefront_endpoint_protection_2010_x86_x64_dvd_612261" in the preprequisites check I get the following message:

Error: Setup has detected that the version of the Configuration Manager installed on this computer does not meet the prerequisite requirements. Upgrade the Configuration Manager installation to Configuration Manager 2007 Release 2 Service Pack 2.

Looking at the site properties for the version I have the following:

Type: Primary

Version: 4.00.6487.2000

R2 Installed: No

Build No: 6487

The media I used to install SCCM 2007 was "en_system_center_configuration_manager_2007_with_sp2_x86_dvd_447809"

Any ideas?

Regards

David

In my case I can see R2 installed = NO, but on took the SCCM 2007 R2 evaluation copy form MS site.

Have I done something wrong? Please advise.
