Task sequence question

Recommended Posts

This might sound like a silly question but my knowledge of task sequences isnt that great. I need to deploy windows 7 with office 2010. One department is supposed to get Office 2010 standard whilst others need to get Office 2010 Professional Pro. Ofice 2010 needs to be included in the reference image. Will i need to create two images to cater for the two versions of office and as a result create two task sequences for the deployment?

If you want to be able to deploy it that way you will need to have two images that you deploy depending on what office needs the computers.

If you install Office in the TS you can have one img and use a query to identify what office version needs to be installed, much more dynamic than using two images.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately having office as part of the image is a requirement. So would i need two task sequences then?

Use baseline variable on the 2 different departments Office 2010 could be package001 and office 2010 Pro could be package002....just assign to collection and use baseline on the task sequence..this way you only need 1 task sequence.
