Unable to deploy client - no sccm log file on client

Question

Hi,

Trying to get my LAB up and running, when I try and push the client to a W7 x64 client I get no sccm log folder on the client. The following error is from the ccmsetup.log

<![LOG[GetHttpRequestObjects failed for verb: 'GET', url: 'HTTPS://WIN-SCCM.xxx.xxx/CCM_Client/ccmsetup.cab']LOG]!><time="21:59:26.651-60" date="04-19-2013" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="3" thread="2044" file="httphelper.cpp:947">
<![LOG[DownloadFileByWinHTTP failed with error 0x87d00281]LOG]!><time="21:59:26.651-60" date="04-19-2013" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="3" thread="2044" file="httphelper.cpp:1081">
<![LOG[CcmSetup failed with error code 0x87d00281]LOG]!><time="21:59:26.661-60" date="04-19-2013" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="3576" file="ccmsetup.cpp:10544">

Any help would be appreciated - thanks. Not really sure how to get around this one. Just out of interest do I need a CA for SCCM to work? As based on the instructions to install I didn't see anything which said you need a CA server (its a test LAB so it doesn't matter if its clear text).

The issue I had (does anyone actually contribute to question on this forum??) anyway... The issue I had was that the client deployment was set to PKI https. Not having any certificates I changed it to http and all 3 of my test lab workstations have been found and the client has been installed.
