Problem with updating clients?

Question

Hello folks,

I have a question about WSUS.

My question is, why i dont get a message or why i cant update my clients trough WSUS?

I have installed WSUS and clients and conntected them to the server. I am using VMWARE WORKSTATION.

What am i doing wrong?

Installed are:

WINDOWS SERVER 2012 R2

AD/DS

WSUS 2012

DHCP

DNS

WDS

Configured:

WSUS

DHCP SCOPE / OPTIONS 3/66/67 AND SCOPE 192.168.2.1 TO 192.168.2.150, SERVER 192.168.2.254

NAT CONNECTED,

But the updates dont come to my client, i have add a gpo rule (new one) but still dont recieve a notify for download or something.

What am i doing wrong...

The first thing to recognize is that the client must be configured and able to communicate with the WSUS Server before you can update the clients.

I'm not sure what you mean by "connected [the clients] to the server", but I don't see anything in the information you provided that discusses configuring the systems to be a WSUS Client.

So, likely, the first place to start is with the section "Configure client updates" in the WSUS v6 Deployment Guide.

Once you have the clients properly configured, if they still fail to appear in the WSUS console, then we can further troubleshoot those issues using the WindowsUpdate.log.
