Unhandled exception during task sequence deployment

Recommended Posts

We've got a user who is trying to deploy an OSD task sequence and is running into trouble. The task sequence is as basic as it gets, entirely created by the wizard. I've only entered information that was required. I've been able to reproduce this reliably. Steps are as follows:

  1. Right click TS and select deploy.
  2. Press Browse to select a collection.
  3. Get unhandled exception.

OR

  1. Right click device collection->Deploy->Task Sequence
  2. Browse to task sequence (same one as above)
  3. Set purpose to Required, click next
  4. Get unhandled exception. (Available works fine).

If I try to deploy a BLANK TS, everything works fine. I looked through the SMSProv.log file and found this:

The User "DOMAIN\user" does not have sufficient rights. line bothers me. The user DOES have sufficient rights. They are:

  • Read-only Analyst
  • Asset Manager
  • Application Deployment Manager
  • Operating System Deployment Manager

Any ideas?
