I have drivers setup into 2 folders in WDS and have DriverGroup1 disabled.
Folder structure for Drivers
Laptop drivers (this includes drivers from Dell E6410, E6320, and E6430)
Desktop drivers (this includes drivers from Dell 380 and 7010)
After deploying the image to a laptop, WIFI driver is incorrect. It seems to be using the E6430 driver for all WIFI devices. What am I doing wrong or not doing correctly?
Hello Everyone, I have WDS and MDT working. Images are deploying fine. I made a change to the customsetting.ini file in MDT. I had SkipComputerName=YES, but have removed this line. But now, each time the image is deployed, it does not provide the screen that allows me to enter a customer computer name. What am I not doing? or missing? Thanks in advance
Hi all,
As of right now, after deploying a WDS image the computer will automatically restart and begin it's process of booting into Windows. Is there a way to turn that feature off?
I'm in the process of trying to test a hard drive duplicator.
- deploy win7 to a computer
- remove drive and use a disk duplicator to clone multiple disks
Hello All,
I've got MDT working to install OS and Dell E6420 driver (driver pack). It's awesome!
But after the task sequence is completed and Win 7 loads up, i get the message "Open File - Security Warning". The file points to the touchpad and sound card.

If i check Device Manager, all drivers were loaded.
Hopefully picture loads.
Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone,
Hope everyone had a good winter break.
I'm having issues with pxebooting laptops. The following error appears when trying to PXEboot.
Client IP: 10.18.X.X Mask: 255.255.X.X DHCP IP: 10.18.X.X
PXE-E55: Proxy DHCP service did not reply to request on port 4011
Below are the details of the configuration. No SMS or ConfigMgr
- DHCP and WDS are on DIFFERENT servers
- Do not have much control of DHCP server
60 pxeboot.com
66 10.18.40.20 - ip of wds
67 boot\x64\wdsnbp.com
- full control on WDS
added boot and capture image using x64 boot.wim
Do not listen on port 67 NOT CHECKED
Configure DHCP option 60 NOT CHECKED
10.18.40.20:4011 active udp port
10.18.40.20:67 active
10.18.40.20:69 active
questions
- what is not configured correctly?
- do i need to inject nic drivers (using Dell E6420 laptop) into the boot image or will boot image work with any computer that is PXE capable?
Thanks in advance!
