Just following up on this as I needed to test for my environment as well. To change from Deferred Channel to First Release for Deferred Channel, make the following registry key and ensure that the channel is set via Group Policy to "FirstReleaseDeferred". Depends what exactly you are looking for. There is nothing that I am aware of per application. - there is bits throttle setting in the clients settings but this is not per package/application/dp http://m.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/common/Introduction-to-Configuration-Manager-2012-Part4.html - I think you can configure a bits throttle on the dp through iis although I'm not sure if this is advisable in 2012....i had success doing this in a 2007 environment: http://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/bit-rate-throttling This would be configured on the dp server, and wouldn't be controllable per program/app. I hope this helps!

First a little about the test environment: 1. Since most of our real world clients are Workgroup and off-site installations, I am running Native mode without AD extended. 2. I am using hosts and lmhosts files for the Workgroup computers to communicate with the MP and SLP etc. 3. Thanks for the reply Peter. Most of our Desktops are 1 Desktop per site, so deploying branch distribution points wouldn't accomplish much in those sites, but that would be helpful for the handful of other sites that have around 20+ desktops in. Thanks again for the help.

I am still in a 100% testing environment (nothing in production yet) as far as SCCM goes. I am wondering if I can have the clients look to the SUP for update information while having them download the updates from Microsoft rather than the SUP. Since we have approximately 250 desktops off site and only about 20 on site, the goal would be saving on bandwidth, with the added benefit of less storage requirements on the SUP. Is this possible with a SUP or would I need to manage the updates separately from SCCM using WSUS? Thanks.
