When I need to find out what is occupying my drives I use WinDirStat, it gives a great visual representation of the files and folders.

 

And it’s free!

[Invalid user mapping]

I have a state migration that will not restore, the capture part worked fine but when trying to restore, it fails with this error;

 

"Error [0x000000] Invalid user mapping: (UserID) -> (SID)[gle=0x00000006]"

 

I've done some research and it looks like this is caused by a poorly run Active Directory migration (our parent company migrated our domain to theirs some time ago).

 

Anyway, I have a system that has been migrated to Win7 from WinXP and the Restore User State fails, I need to get the user state restored.

 

Any ideas?
