I'm following the guide for SCCM 2012 in a lab and am up to Part 6 but am having issues with updates via WSUS. I'm having the following issues. When installing WSUS I am unable to run it under the default ports - I get an error saying "an error has occurred and the wizard must now close. I am unable to connect to WSUS via the mmc afterwards. I have tried removing the SUP role, uninstalling WSUS, re-installing WSUS using custom ports (8530) I am then able to get to the Configuration Wizard where I hit cancel. Then re-installing the SUP role and setting the custom port settings as part of the wizard. This appears to take fine but then when I select Endpoint Protection updates as detailled in the guide I get errors in the wsyncmgr.log and WCM.log wsyncmgr.log shows: Sync failed: WSUS server not configured. Please refer to WCM.log for configuration error details.. SMS_WSUS_CONFIGURATION_MANAGER 22/03/2012 09:31:28 5184 (0x1440) Timed out.... Anyone seen this or can assist with why I am getting this error? The SCCM and WSUS are on one box and there is no proxy involved.
