  1. Thanks - the reason I want to "re-use" this advertisement is because this is the advertisement I have been using for testing. This way, I know that everything is set exactly the way I tested it.
  2. Hello, I am getting ready to advertise a task sequence that I have been testing. I have a test collection that I have been using, but when I deploy, I would like to use the same advertisement but change to a different collection. However, when I do this, I want to make sure that the task sequence doesn't start until after hours (very important). If I delete all of the mandatory assignments, and then add a single mandatory assignment (for after hours) and then switch the advertisement to use my new collection, what happens? Will the old "test" mandatory assignments cause the task seqence to start immediately, or will it wait because the "new" computers wouldn't know about the mandatory assignments that I removed? Do I need to create a brand new advertisement to avoid having the task sequence start right away, or can I avoid this by simply modifying the existing task sequence? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer. Jon
  3. Hello, I am trying to deploy a large software application with multiple installation steps using a task sequence. Each step of the task sequence installs software from a different package. The total content is over 7 GB, so I have set the advertisement to "Access content directly from a distribution point when needed by the running task sequence". When the advertisement runs on my test computer, the advertisement is accepted and then it enters the status "Waiting". It has been in this state for over 24 hours, and I don't understand why. I checked all of the packages, and they all appear to be available on a distribution point which is available to the test computer. Am I wrong in thinking that it shouldn't be waiting for anything, since it should be accessing the content directly from a distribution point? Is there anything that I can do to figure out what it is waiting for (and how to get it to run from the DP instead of waiting for it)? Any suggestions that you can offer would be helpful. Thanks, Jon
