  1. Hi Kevlar01. Yes I know that Configuration manager does not support a in-place upgrade from 2008 server to 2012 server. My scenario are as follow: Server01: Running SCCM 2012 Sp1 (Build number 7804) on a Windows 2008 R2 server, as a Primary site, The SQL server is installed locally on the SCCM server and running version 2008R2 (10.50.2861) Server02: Will be installed with Server 2012R2 and SQL2012 Sp1 CU6 I want to move my confiugration from Server01 to Server02 the easiest way. In my lab, I managed to upgrade SCCM to SCCM 2012R2 and it's working like a charm. I think I will do the same in our production. I can take a Configmgr. backup of the site database and settings, But how will I proceed from there? I know the new server should have the same netbios name as the old server. I can install it with the same hard drive setup as the old server. And I need to install SCCM2012R2 on the new server, and then do a recover site. I also know that I need to copy the filedata (Images, Bootimages, Driverpackages, programs ect. to the new server, do you have at list of which folders I need to copy? Thanks in advance /Claus
  2. Hi Guys. SCCM 2012 Sp1 Upgrade to SCCM 2012 R2 roadmap I’m currently running SCCM 2012 Sp1 (Build number 7804) on a Windows 2008 R2 server, as a Primary site The SQL server is installed locally on the SCCM server and running version 2008R2 (10.50.2861) My goal is to swap this installation on to a brand new Windows 2012R2 server running SCCM2012R2 with SQL 2012R2 CU6. How can I best accomplish this? I haven’t seen any whitepapers or guidelines describing this specific scenario. Perhaps upgrading the existing server to latest SCCM version, for upgrading the database, and then a backup of the database. Install SCCM 2012R2 on the new server, with same hard drives, and same hostname, and then do a site recover? After that copy all the packages to the new server. My hopes are that I can get all my driver packages and task sequences etc. the easiest way migrated to the new server. Anyone here that can help with a guideline? Thanks in advance.
