auto deployment rule results exceeded maximum number of updates

My automatic deployment rules are giving error: 0X87D20415 (auto deployment rule results exceeded maximum number of updates)

 

Is there any way to clear or delete updates, so that there would be space for new updates?

I'm having the same issue and error code as OP.

 

Our baseline deployment package which we have to keep our Windows 7 image updated hasn't added new updates since August.

You should adjust the selection criteria of the ADR.

I have the same error, however the only selection criteria I have on the Software Updates tab is product/windows7

Yes, but what products did you select? You need to make the filter in the ADR more specific to prevent it from going over a 1000 updates.

Looking at the software group it does indeed have almost 1000 items (997).

 

I will split my Windows 7 ADR into two groups filtered by 'update classificaion'
