Client instales but without site details

Hi

 

I have set up a lab, All on VM

 

Server 2008 with sccm 2007, 1 VM client desktop XP SP3

 

server is working fine, I can conect my VM machine (XP SP3) to it fine and all is well. It creates a computer account fine.

Sccm sees the XP machine in the correct place and pushes the sccm client to it with no problems, BUT after pushing the client sccm still says no client installed. If I re install the client it does indeed re install.

 

On the client machine the sccm client cannot find the site code etc, this seems to be the problem.

 

Firewall is off on all, and I can remote desktop from the server to the XP machine with no problems so connection seems fine

Did you extend the AD (for the Site details), or do you provide the Site code with the installation parameters (Client Push)?

In addition to the above,also check the clientlocation.log and locationserivices.log on client Logs folder (c:\windows\system32\ccm\logs)
