I'm going to install new SCCM 2012 from "clear table" for approx. 3000 client computers and one domain at first. Then next year there is need to add second domain and approx. 2000 client desktops more. I'm familiar with SCCM 2007 but I could need some good advices for servers and setups... Central administration Site (CAS) is a big question mark for me. Is there any real need for it in this size of environment (2 different domain, 6000 clients)? What about server hardware.. I'm thinking to get new dedicated server with 16Gt RAM and 150gb (4x150, RAID10) for SQL/Primary site installed on same hardware. I believe there is enough performance and disk IO to run smoothly. Is it possible or recommended to install CAS for virtualized (VMWare) server, if it's recommended to install? I have few dynamic collections for software installations. Query checks Application from "Add/Remove Programs" and install it, if it's missing. Purpose is to install few applications (for example Adobe Reader X) to all 1000 machines where it doesn't exist yet.
