  1. I am trying to run the Software 02D - Computers with Specfic Software Installed report. Its runs fine, but I cannot choose or even type in the software I want to look for. It only gives me the option of "all". I am sure there is something simple I am missing. Thoughts on how to add the software I want to look for?
  2. Thanks Rocket man, that answered my question perfectly...
  3. First off I want to now exactly what is being placed on the computers I am putting out there. Second, we are having some issues which seem to point back to the client, and seeing as we are only using x64 os anymore, I wondered if that could be the issue. Thrid, just because microsoft makes it automatic, does not make it a good option
  4. So, is there a x64 client and a x32 client? Is the client getting installed based on OS or does it default to x32? Is there a way to determine what version of the client is installed??? Any answers would be great.
  5. So, there is not a x64 version? Even though in smm2012server\sms_sc2\Client where the package is located, there is a x32 and x64 folder with client applications in them???
  6. So, this configuration Manager Package that automatically gets created will get pushed to computers. Does it just push a x32 bit version of the client, or will it install x32 or x64 based on the OS that is installed??? If not, how do I push out the x64 bit version to x64 OS's???
  7. I am installing a 10 gb image, with applications Office 2010 Pro, Photostory and and google sketchup, and that runs fast. Like I said they are in the application sections running with msi's. The problem seems to be any software I need to install as a package using the exe's. Those would include Lexia 9, Read and Write gold 10, Adobe reader 11 and a couple msu updates. The image and msi's will download and install within 30 mins, which I am happy with. The exe's take forever, 2 hoours has been the miniumum. It just seems to sit there, and eventually installs. Evereything seems correct, all on the same distribution site, but maybe I am missing something. Is there any log that will tell me which applications are taking what time to install, or where they are actually coming from?
  8. Yes, during OSD, the image will apply and the half dozen Applications (msi) will apply in about 40 mins total, then about a half a dozen packages (exe) will take over 2 hours. Can that be right???
  9. We just switched to 2012 and are still working out the bugs. Most everything seems to be working well, except that the software packages seem to be installing very slowly. The image applys easily, any Applications (msi) I have installs easily, but any Packages (exe) I created seems to take a very long time. Any thoughts as to why?
  10. I was having the same issue, and what fixed it for me was under Properties for the Distribution Point, in the General Tab, it was set to HTTPS, and once I changed that to HTTP, it worked fine...
  11. Just a guess here, but did you remove all the other .msp files from the updates folder. I am still in the process of setting up my install, but I made the assumption I was suppose to remove the other .msp files, so the app knows to use the silent install options I added in OCT. Take that with a grain of salt, I am assuming I should have removed them.
  12. So, I am planning on pushing Office 2010 to our computers. The issue I am foreseeing is....we are a school board that has a number of laptops and netbooks for students. Generally, they stay on for an hour at a time at most. Some are 20-30 minutes or less. So, what can I do to ensure the application gets installed properly even when the laptops keeps getting turned off before the install finish's???
