Similar to ghosting a machine.. I'd like to do the first part of the task sequence to a hard drive, so it doesn't have to transfer the image over.. even on SSD's the process is quite slow on older netbooks... and I have to do 5 carts of 40. Just looking for a quicker solution.

We just got a shipment of SSDs in to replace older 5400rpm drives in netbooks, and I was wondering if it is possible to pre-image them, before putting them into the netbooks? Then when they get put into the netbooks, they'll finish the process and get named and everything.

I'd like to be able to update drivers for specific devices, whenever a new driver has been released (i.e. a video card). Is it possible to create a software package and target any computer that has the associated hardware IDs?

I ran into this exact error. It was caused by a bad image copy to the server. The MD5 did not check out between the file that I downloaded from MS and the one that was on the server was different. I re-downloaded the Win7x64 w/ sp1 from the volume license site onto the server, and re-created the installer files and voila.. it worked. 3 weeks of messing around with it off and on.. and I finally found out that it was a bad image.
