  1. Hi All Please let me know what is the best practise method for Window patch updates on SCCM 2012, should we do one of the following: Have saved software update groups which download patches and automatically download and deploy (every month) Manually check each window update and download and update to test Servers first (every month) or another solution which is the best method to deploy updates. Also Endpoint updates what is the best practise to deploy AV updates - every day?? many thanks
  2. Hi Rocket Man Yes possibly it could be i have not in putted the correct drivers for a particular model. I will have a look for this online and see what i can do. I have an issue where if you notice from the below smsts.log i could connect to the DP. So not sure why majority of the time i cant connect and on rare occasions i can. CLibSMSMessageWinHttpTransport::Send: URL: vmwdev23SCCM.nuffield.ukhealth.com:80 GET /SMS_MP/.sms_aut?MPKEYINFORMATION TSMBootstrap 10/17/2012 1:09:22 PM 1228 (0x04CC) Request was succesful. TSMBootstrap 10/17/2012 1:09:22 PM 1228 (0x04CC) Default CSP is Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES Cryptographic Provider TSMBootstrap 10/17/2012 1:09:22 PM 1228 (0x04CC) Default CSP Type is 24 TSMBootstrap 10/17/2012 1:09:22 PM 1228 (0x04CC) New settings: TSMBootstrap 10/17/2012 1:09:22 PM 1228 (0x04CC)
  3. Hi All I am trying to deploy an OS via OSD but keep getting the failed error message, when i press F8 and go into the log files i see the following error message CLibSMSMessageWinHttpTransport::Send: URL: vmwdev23SCCM.nuffield.ukhealth.com:80 GET /SMS_MP/.sms_aut?MPKEYINFORMATION Error. Received 0x80072ee7 from WinHttpSendRequest. hr, HRESULT=80072ee7 (e:\nts_sccm_release\sms\framework\osdmessaging\libsmsmessaging.cpp,8738) sending with winhttp failed; 80072ee7 the issue i have is that in the dos screen i can ping the DP/MP (both one server) via the FQDN etc all fine, the ip address is all configured correctly. So not sure what else could be the issue. i have added the Vm Nic drivers as new OS is on VMware platform and this has worked fine. Any idea what this could be.
  4. Hi Rocket Man yes sorry the screen shot you see is what i do see, i sent you an error i got on one of the web pages within the IIS folder. Resolved that by enabling directory browser. Any idea why i get the following error message when i try deploy OSD CLibSMSMessageWinHttpTransport::Send: URL: vmwdev23SCCM.nuffield.ukhealth.com:80 GET /SMS_MP/.sms_aut?MPLOCATION&ir=169.254.169.15&ip=169.254.0.0 Error. 6. Hi Peter, even if you have made a change to a package, i sometime don't see the DP available when i try to redistribute.
  7. Hi I have attached the log file is that helps. My Site Server (DP / MP) is the following Server http://vmwdev23SCCM.nuffield.ukhealth.com but not sure when i try put this address into a working Server i get the IIS screen. Is this correct? smsts.log

  9. Hi I have a CAS Server and 1 Site Server which has the DP role installed. For some reason sometime when i try distribute an update for a patch or Window Image, the DP does not show up. I end up having to uninstall the DP role from the Site Server and then adding it again. Is there any idea why this is occuring or a log file i can check why this is occuring. Also any idea how big a DP storage should be? Thanks Kabir
  10. Adding email exchange.. Hi Trevor Many thanks for replying back to me so quick. Not sure what you mean regarding this – “you must also manually update your boot media after the distribution points have finished updating.” Also I had some issues updating the distribution point for my boot images so I created new ones – and enabled the command support, distributed them and then deployed the boot images. I then created a new task sequence media and select boot image. This created fine, I added the ISO file to a Virtual machine and got the same error. When I try press F8 I don’t get anywhere :-( not sure why i can not get the F8 working... think it would be key in trying to resolve this failed OSD task..
  11. Hi trevor my appologies for not getting back, for some reason i was not getting notification about your post. So currently i have done the below: I have tried the build and capture task sequence and successfully managed to create a WIM file from a deployment. I then added the WIM file to SCCM Operating System Images and distributed this to my one and only DP. i then created a task sequence media wizard, SCCM created a ISO file which i mounted onto my VMware machine. I got to the part when i enter the network credentials, i noted the MAC address and inputted this into SCCM devices where you click on import device via computer. Once i added the MAC addres, i then cofigured the IP address manually on the OS that i wanted to deploy. After i click on next, i get the below error message. Any idea why i can not get past this stage - have attempted several different things and still stuck. many thanks
  12. Hi All I am trying to configure Software inventory on SCCM 2012 and have managed to get it working, however what i don't understand is how to configure the view so i can say this Server has all these software, or do a total of all the Servers which have say MS Office 2012 installed. I'm sure this is possible on SCCM 2012 - below is the current view i have when i click on software inventories. many thanks in advance Kabir
