  1. From what I can tell the client is installed and functioning at the correct CU level. Ive attached both ccmsetup logs. ccmsetup-20141007-141233.log ccmsetup.log
  2. We have recently upgraded from SCCM 2012 SP1 to r2 CU2. I am trying to recover the ability to image with XP using the boot.wim from sp1 (not the new ones created with r2). The task sequence successfully boots into PE, formats drive, applies OS and installs CM client. I have been able to validate each step in my smsts.log. The TS reboot after the Client install and never resumes the TS. Here is what I see in the SMSTS.log: Failed to get the environment key. Failed to resume task sequence (0x800700EA). 3. We are having an odd issue with a specific model of laptop (Dell e6530). When running the OSD Task Sequence it only installs the first few apps and hangs. I am able to run the same TS on other models with no issues. I have attached a screen shot of my TS and the SMSTS log. The hi-lighted app is where the TS stops and eventually reboots to a Ctl + Alt + Del screen. Let me know if more info is needed. 4. Sorry for the late response... I was able to check the properties of My Computer from within the DCOM control panel (dcomcnfg). There is a Default Protocols tab that should list Connection-oriented TCP/IP as the first protocol.
  5. We are currently deploying a Win 7 image using the unknown computer collection with the OSDComputername variable set. It is working with no problems. I am a bit stumped as to what is causing it to not work with the XP image.
  6. Thanks for pointing that out. I have removed the Unattend.txt and re ran the task sequence. It is still not pulling the name that i defined in the OSDComputername. I followed the advice found on another forum that suggested I create a Task Sequence Variable names OSDComputerName and setting the value as %_SMSTSMachineName%. However this doesnt appear to correct the problem.
  7. I am running into issues naming the workstation during my task sequence using the OSDComputername collection variable. I am prompted to define the OSDComputername variable before the task sequence kicks off but it doesn't appear to be passing through. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what other information would be helpful in locating the problem. I attempted to follow http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/569-how-can-i-deploy-windows-xp-sp3-using-sccm-2007-sp1-part-1/ as closing as possibe. 8. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am in a quandary and am in need of some guidance. We are in the process of deploying a post image task sequence to the "All Client Systems" and I am reluctant to pull the trigger due to the new program notification pop up that will come with it. I was suppressed all program notifications in my packages, remove any sort of reminders and count downs from my advert. However, I am still getting the new program pop up on the client machines. Any ideas on how to remove the pop up for just this specific task sequence advert? I have figured out how to disable the pop ups using a global setting but want to make sure there are no other options prior to making such a broad change. Let me know if more information is needed. Thanks in advance cb Edit: The task sequence needs to be ran via Run Advertised Programs after the image is completed and the SCCM client has done its thing. We are using SCCM 2007.
  9. Looks like to problem was identified. Checked my DCOM configuration on the problem workstation against a known good one. Found a missing DCOM Protocol for TCP/IP. Added the protocol, verified the securities were identical for DCOM and WMI. Once the workstation was rebooted, I was able to connect via SCCM Client Center.
  10. A little more information. I am unable to access WMI remotey using WBEMTEST or WMIC (using a local admin account). Getting Error: The RPC server is unavailable.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I have verified the hostname and IP address with IPCONFIG and NBTSTAT. All show the same IP.

  13. I appear to be going in circles trying to troubleshoot a connectivity issue with SCCM Client Center. I am getting "The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)" when trying to connect to another XP workstation (Hostname: SW755) on my network. I am able to remote into SW755 and run Client Center with no issues. I am a bit stumped. No Firewall Service is running. RPC Service is running. Workstation is receiving correct advertisements from SCCM 2007. WMI appears to be intact and Security verified against a known good machine. Workstation in question is running XP SP3 I am positive I am leaving out some details. Feel free to ask and I will answer the best I can. Thanks in advance for the assistance.
