  1. Hi Garth, This helped me out tremendously. Thank you. One thing I would like to ask, how do you get the harddrive free space and CPU speed to return data. My columns are empty. Is there a certain hardware class I need to enable to pull that data?
  2. So this report came in very handy. Does anyone know of a good resource to get different custom queries for SCCM 2012? Web site or other? It seems to be pretty powerful..
  3. Okay have it working with a custom report. My query is below. How can I add the user last logged in field to this query. Tried several additons to the query with no luck.. Making progress!! SELECT SYS.Netbios_Name0,printer.ShareName0,printer.DriverName0, printer.Location0,printer.PortName0,printer.PrintProcessor0 FROM v_GS_PRINTER_DEVICE printer JOIN v_R_System SYS ON SYS.ResourceID = printer.ResourceID ORDER BY SYS.Netbios_Name0
  4. Hello, I'm sure this has been answered but I have been unable to locate anything helpful. I'm looking to run a report (or simple query) showing all locally installed printer and the machine they are installed on. We are capturing the data, but I do not see a report showing the printers installed. I'm trying to determine the best way to query for this information. We have SCCM 2012 with the Printer Device (Win32_printer) class enabled. Is it possible to run a simple query to pull this information? If so what would the SQL query look like? any help is appreciated... Thanks in advance...
  5. Thanks maybe a silly question, but what is BIDS??
  6. Hello - I would like to create a software and hardware inventory dashboard using SCCM 2012. What are the best ways to accomplish this? I know there were add-ons availble for SCCM 2007, but need to know how to do it in SCCM 2012. Ideally without purchasing anything new, using only what we have. Any thoughts are appreciated..
  7. Hi We recently began deploying Windows Updates via SCCM 2012. One of our end users machines did not have the client installed and had automatic windows updates enabled. Needless to say this caused the user to receive more updates than we wanted. Is it good to use a GPO to disable Automatic Updates when using SCCM 2012 for windows updates? Any advice is appreciated, I'm reading mixed feelings on this on the internet.. any other GPO setting recommended??

  9. Disabling Automatic Updates VIA GPO good to do? When using SCCM 2012 for windows updates.

  10. Hello all Can anyone tell me if it's possible to add the device "desciption" to a column in the SCCM console? It would be nice to see the desciption in the main devices view in assets and compliance instead of having to cross reference it with AD. I have looked and cannot find a way to add it. Thanks in advance
  11. Currently we have no packaging team. Managing desktops is new to us as will be the software.
  12. Thank you for the response. I'm overseeing the deployment in our organization and need to suggest app packagers to try. I'm looking for some suggestions to lead me in the right direction. Currently I'm evaluating adminstudio10 config manager edition. I'm open to suggestions. I know Flexera is popular, but the full admin studio costs more than I like so I'm looking for something more reasonably priced if possible.
  13. Hello - We are in the process of implementing SCCM 2012. Does anyone have any recommendations on decent application packaging products that can be used? Ideally, we are looking for good functionality at the most reasonable cost while at the same time allowing us to quickly package different types of applications. Do we even need a third party application packager or can we do everything natively w/ SCCM 2012. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance..

    Deploy Windows 7

Nice document.. Thanks for putting all this out there. The documentation has been very useful!
  15. Hi, we are implementing SCCM 2012 and we cannot extend the AD schema (is not allowed in our environment due to our size). Since SLP is no longer an option in 2012, how can I verify everything is setup so our clients do not have a problem finding our site? What replaced SLP in 2012. thanks in advance
