  1. After one of the updates hanging on sharing content. I restarted the sql service and now sccm cannot connect. I have tried running modify sql server connection on the setup wizard hta but I get the error attached. When I run a UDL file test it connects using windows authentication but not when I enter the credentials of the user I am actually logged on as. Any ideas? The smsexec.log states *** [28000][18456][Microsoft] [SQL Server]Login failed for user Here the user account has not changed and is still the same. It is the computer account of the site system server.
  2. I am trying upgrade all of my devices to 1709 through sccm which is running 1710. When I create the servicing plan it tells me the upgrade to 1709 is required by 14 devices but I have 60 devices running 1703. Am I missnig something? I also have devices that show neither defer or do not defer upgrades on osreadiness branch it is just empty. Thanks in advance for any ideas. 0 I am trying upgrade all of my devices to 1709 through sccm which is running 1710. 4. Hi, I am running one single sccm server 5.0.8412.1000 and all of the log files have not updated since 31.08.2016. The system did crash then according to a crashdump folder but all seems to be working except pxe boot. I dont even get an smspxe.log file in the logs folder. Where would be the best place to start troubleshooting without log files? I have of course restarted the server and reinstalled PXE on the DP but still the same no reply on tftp error. The crash refers to a reg erro shown below: ERROR: Could not read HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Components\SMS_EXECUTIVE\Yield Configuration from the registry: The system cannot find the file specified. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks, Oliver
  5. Ok, I was confused before now I dont know how to explain it. This is on the site server. What do I need to do now?
  6. it is this part. Plus I get lots of messages in the monitoring node as follows. Site Component Manager failed to install this component, because the Microsoft Installer File for this component (bgbisapi.msi) could not install. Site Component Manager failed to install this component, because the Microsoft Installer File for this component (mp.msi) could not install. I thought it might be related to these lines here: Property(S): UserExitDialog_Title = Setup Aborted Property(S): UserExitDialog_SubTitle = Setup was cancelled Property(S): UserExitDialog_Info = The ConfigMgr Management Point setup was cancelled. Property(S): InstallErrorDialog_Title = Setup Aborted Property(S): InstallErrorDialog_SubTitle = Setup failed Property(S): InstallErrorDialog_Info = Setup encountered an error and could not continue.
  7. I am seeing a lot of problems with installing my management point. The log file is attached. I have tried removing and reinstalling with the same problems. A small section is shown here. Property(S): InstallDialog_Title = Install Property(S): InstallDialog_SubTitle = The product is now ready to install Property(S): InstallDialog_Info = Click Next to proceed. 8. I am having some problems with the software center, all of the applications hang at downloading (0% complete). I have checked IIS and the website is running and has been restarted. I have also check the content status under the monitoring node and have also validated the content on the DP are check ok. I have copied content from two log files below, any ideas are appreciated. 9. I meant 2 years all together. I upgraded to R2 earlier this year and yes upgraded the console as well. I will try to renew the certificate today and see if that resolves the problem. I have only added trusted root certs before, Do I just need to add a cert from the sql server itself or does it need to be a special certificate?

  11. How do I check if the sms provider is running? is this just a service or not? Sorry I have never had the chance to really dig into sccm as much as I would like to. I will check those logs and report back aswell, thank you.
  12. I have checked all of these things. Wmi, dcom and sql report no errors. I can log into the sql database instance from the management studio from both the local and remote servers. I have checked disk space and there is currently over 20gb of space. I can post any other log files if required.
  13. I tried to start the sccm console this morning and got the cannot connect to site error. This error appears whether I use the local console on the server or from a remote machine. It has worked for around 2 years. Me and one other guy have the only two accounts, it is a fairly simple setup just a single server. No one can connect using any account from any machine even locally on the server. The adminui.log section is posted below. Any help is appreciated. A bit more info below. 15. I am trying to install and configure MBAM 2.0. I have installed all of the components on two separate servers. Server 1 has sccm 2012 integration and gpo policy templates. Server two has the rest. When I load Group Policy Management the templates do not appear. I have manually extracted and copied the templates in the local policy definitions and still nothing. Any ideas?
  16. Is it possible to make a package still appear in the software center after install ? I have created a package using Ninite that runs downloads then installs the latest version of adobe reader. I would like this to be reusable. Thanks
  17. I have been asked by my company to setup SCCM 2012, I have worked with it in a test environment but this setup will support 6000 machines. I have not gone past a single server setup yet with a few distribution points. Any tips on where to start with a larger setup?
  18. Just wanted to add I use a program called ninite to install apps during SCCM Task Sequences. You can set this up once and it will always install the latest version of the required applications. You can find more information here http://ninite.com/. It is not expensive software and there are some very useful switches like /Select just to install certain applications and also /Cachepath so you dont need to download the apps for each task sequence you can use a network share.
  19. I have seen articles using vbs or javascript to create a hta for use as an sccm osd frontend. I am wondering if I could use a powershell gui made using Powershell Studio? I was not sure if it is possible to access the environment variables from this or if it is how you would do this? Thanks in advance for any information.
  20. I would say delete the package and recreate it, or at least select the packages within the packages node, right click and choose update distribution points.
  21. I have now built 3 separate build and capture task sequences. All of the install the image restart to install the applications and hang at setup is starting services. One is using windows 7 ent standard wim. One is using Windows 8 standard wim and the last one was windows 7 pro. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Is there something extra I must do in SCCM 2012 SP1?
  22. I have restarted the whole process now and am getting some other errors but thanks for the reply. I am now having a problem after build and capture. I am getting an error saying windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file but I do not have one selected. Is there a default answer file I need to edit?
  23. I get the above error in my OSD task sequence. This happens after is has installed the configmgr client if I add applications they seem to install ok and then it errors again.
