Hi, Thanks for replying. There are no errors in the System Status that I can see on the site server. I have looked at the local policy and can find no trace where the WSUS client information is. I have just deployed a new 2012 R2 configuration manger install to take over from our broken 2012 Configuration manager. I have got it all up and running, created the software update groups for MS updates, the client has been redeployed to all the local devices and are all reporting back to the SCCM 2012 R2 box. My problem is the software update job is not deploying the updates, if I go into "Monitoring > Deployments > Monthly Update" and do view status, I can see all devices in the "Unknown" tab all showing as Checked/Active but no machines in Success, In progress, Error those tabs only display "Status information is currently unavailable for this deployment" Can someone please lend a hand, a thought as to what might be the problem, where I can look etc Thanks Kimbie

In the process of deploying SCCM 2012 R2, we already have a SCCM 2012 system but we lack confidence in it how it is setup so we are moving to 2012R2 in a new environment. Have got it all setup however it appears some of our client computers are getting updated, we had 60 machines get updated overnight and trying to work out if the new SCCM box is responsible for it, and how can I prove / disprove it is the cause? Our patching policy we have categories of servers C1, C2, C3 and desktops. We are fine with creating software update packages and deploying them via SCCM to C3 and the desktops and that is working a treat. The C1 and C2 server we patch by logging onto them and running Windows Update, and it shows no patches available and last patched installed were several months ago. What we can not work out is how we make patches available to the servers this way. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Kimbie

First off I am new to SCCM but have a course for admin of SCCM later in the year, but in the mean time I have a question regarding the status of machines. Have created a software update package for windows updates, with reboots supressed we run the deployment, after a while, we go into Monitoring and looking at one of the deployments and we can see 1 or 2 machines have been patched and are showing as compliant, however a large number are classed as Unknown If I click on view status to bring up the more detailed view, under the unknown tab, the machines tends to be listed u nder "Client Check passed Active" or "Client check passed/Inactive" we have found the WUAHandler.log on one of the unknown machines and it shows it had recived the update package and deployed the updates, even if we reboot the machine after a few days still shows as Unknown. The problem is we need to run compliance reports to show what machines have not been patched, and these unknown machines do not help. So my question is, how do I get this machines to show as compliant to the update we pushed to them? Many thanks Kimbie
