  1. Yes that is the intended boot image for PXE booting the computer. I have been keeping that boot image updated with the proper drivers (I have a backup of the originals). I can create a new one, and I actually think I did do this. When I went to apply the new boot image and make that the only PXE, the PXE server was trying to pull data from the ***000002 file instead of the newly created one. What server are you running as your PXE point? We are using our SCCM server. I am considering setting up a 2012 server and making that the PXE server and directing the traffic to SCCM. Does anyone else do this? I think this is a training/knowledge issue on my part. I am still learning.
  2. I will post 50 lines from smspxe.log below. It should work because the boot image we use is 64 bit. <![LOG[MAC Ignore List Filename in registry is empty]LOG]!><time="00:06:34.331+240" date="03-31-2014" component="SMSPXE" context="" type="1" 3. Quick bump. Would anyone else happen to have any ideas?
  4. It does state that the BootImage needs to be updated. And it is the bootimage that is used for PXE booting. I can try that even though it was updated on 3/6/2014. We added CU3 a few months back. Edit: Updating the boot image did not correct UEFI booting.
  5. Yes we restarted the WDS service. And I found the smspxe.log file. It says quite a bit. Is there a particular message I should be looking for? I can upload the document here if that would help?
  6. Yes it helps clarify some things. However, my file structure is similar to that of the Server 2012 where the SMSBoot folders contain the *.efi files already. I feel like we are almost there in terms of getting this working, but whenever I boot up a computer using the UEFI architecture, there is a "verify media is present" error.
  7. Thank you for responding! Our PXE Enabled DP is running Windows Server 2008 R2. It is the same server as our SCCM server actually.
  8. I have google searched, and searched this site as well and I am unable to figure out the problem I am having with booting to UEFI. I am running SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 on Windows Server 2008 R2. We are trying to image an HP Elitebook 840 with UEFI booting in a 64-bit environment. If we change the 840 to a legacy boot, I am able to image the computer. When I am trying to boot with UEFI, the screen states it is "Starting PXE over IPv4." there is an error message that comes up and states "An error occurred with the boot selection. Verify media is present and retry." At first thought, I am guessing there is an issue with the drivers. Would anyone have some insight into what is causing this error, or any ideas of what to check? I am kind of scratching my head over this thing for over a week.
  9. My apologies. I installed KB2780664. Do you deploy packages with Task Sequences? Sorry, I am still relatively new to all this stuff. I have successfully deployed packages to offsite computers, as well as computers internally. Do most people install applications during the task sequence, or is there another method that is best practice? I am open to any and all suggestions.
  10. Update: I have successfully installed and deployed the SCCM 2012 CU2 update. I am going to start researching the upgrade to sp1. It would be nice to put some powershell scripts in the middle of the task sequence to accomplish some things we want to. I left work after the upgrade, and I sent the task sequence to a computer. In the morning, I will check to see if the applications installed successfully and report back to this forum.
  11. Sorry I didn't see your message before! We are currently using the base installation of SCCM. We do not have SP1 installed due to a custom PKI package for offsite clients to communicate with our server. There is fear of the PKI client conversion breaking with the update. We do not have CU1 or CU2 installed at the moment. I am looking into updating the server to CU2 now, but this is the first big project I have had. I just took a snapshot of the server and I am going to apply the update shortly. I also appreciate the help. Thank you so much!
  12. I have been working heavily on our implementation of SCCM in our corporate environment. We ran into a problem where I had to rebuild and fix the PXE option and it brought me to this site. I have been working on a Task Sequence for the past week or so. We originally had an outside company build the base server and set it up for us so all we had to do was maintenance, add new drivers, etc. Anyway, I am coming up with a new task sequence (tried to copy the one that works and apply it to a different collection), but the applications from the copied Task Sequence or the new one I created never installs applications. It's baffling to me. Here are one of the codes it provides. I am implementing a log capture when a job is successful or if it fails. You will notice that in one of those failed log files. Policy Evaluation failed, hr=0x87d00267 InstallApplication 8/13/2013 11:59:02 AM 2260 (0x08D4) Install application action failed: 'Symantec Endpoint Protection'. Error Code 0x87d00267 InstallApplication 8/13/2013 11:59:02 AM 2260 (0x08D4) I will add in a zip file with more logs from the SMSTS folder on the client machine. Any help of what to look for would be greatly appreciated.
