  1. The problem turned out to be the CD Rom drives in this model of laptop. When we take the CD Rom drive out, the client installs fine and the task continues. If the CD Rom is in, the task fails to properly install the SCCM client and as a result, the rest of the task sequence (application installs) doesn't run.
  2. I had SCCM 2012 all set up and working to deploy images and applications. We were able to deploy a base image to 560 new laptops and set applications to install as part of the task sequence and it all went well. However, I could not get Windows updates to work. In the process of trouble-shooting that issue, I was told to remove my AD Site boundary and just leave in my IP subnets. Turned out that that was not the problem and I have since added the AD Site boundary back into my boundaries, but now my task sequences no longer deploy any applications that are set to install. The base image installs, but none of the applications. (these do still work on the 560 computers that were already imaged, just not on any computers that hadn't previously been imaged this way). If I check the control panel, the Configuration Manager is there, but there is no site assigned. As soon as I click on Configure Settings, Find site, it immediately finds the site and gives the message "Configuration manager has successfully found a site to manage this client". But when I go to the Software Center, I get the error message "Loading software center returned error code 0x80041001 (-2147217407) I have searched and searched on that error and everything seems to refer to it being a WMI issue. But the same task sequence works fine on 560 computers, so why does it fail on the rest? To resolve my WSUS updates issue, I had to create a second web site on ports 8530 and 8531. I'm not sure if the problems started when I removed the AD site from the boundaries or if it happened after I created the second web site. I didn't try to deploy any images to computers during that time-frame. On top of that, some of my computers are no longer showing up under Devices. They are there if I do a search for them, and I can send software applications to them (up until I try to image them - at that point when I find them in SCCM, it shows them as not having the client installed even though the computer itself says it is installed and it can communicate with the site). Any ideas on what went wrong and how I can fix it?
