  1. I guess nobody has figured out a way to do this. I guess I'll keep on searching
  2. I created the image using an ISO in Hyper V, always in a work group. I then used the following capture media process: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5070-how-can-i-capture-an-image-using-capture-media-in-configmgr-2012/ I never activated windows manually but it is activated through the hyper v image.
  3. Hello, I created my start screen customization by using powershell to export and import the tiles. (http://stealthpuppy.com/customizing-the-windows-8-1-start-screen-dont-follow-microsofts-guidance/) Only issues is that it does not copy over the Internet Explorer shortcuts to the tiles. I put the shortcuts in default user\desktop so they show up on the desktop but how can I get them to show up in my tiles during a task sequence? I added them as an app, then pinned them to the tiles but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks Rick
  4. I have attached a screenshot. It exists on my image I created in HyperV. Not sure why it's in there, I didn't use SCCM to do anything with it but capture the image. Should I just delete the registry keys and recapture the image? Will it reconstruct the registry keys when it images the computer? It shows that System and administrator have special permissions on all of these keys. Thanks for your help! Rick
  5. I notice on my image that the _SMSTaskSequence is not deleting itself. Everything seems to be installing correctly. My SMSTS logs show an error: Failed to open key Software\Microsoft\SMS\A Huge string of numbers\SMSTS I have no idea what it's trying to do. I'm attaching the logs to see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks Rick smsts-20140414-104309.log smsts.log
  6. I am using the Dell CCTK to activate tpm, etc and it works good on new computers where TPM is turned off. But... If a computer has had TPM/Bitlocker turned on before and it runs these steps, it fails at the activate TPM step. If I run it through the command prompt it says Note: You cannot active tpm unless 1. Admin password must be set (it is set) 2. TPM must not be owned (this is the issue) 3. TPM must be deactivated (Even if it's deactivated it still fails) I believe it's because of #2 Anyone find a way around this?
  7. Greetings! Good Morning! I have 3 different task sequences and I have questions about customizations. I am stuck with the same issue on all of them. 1. Power Options - I don't want to set these using a GPO because I want the user to have the ability to change if it don't suit their needs (Power button - shut off, sleep button - do nothing, lid closed - do nothing) I set it up in client settings somewhere but it doesn't make the change after imaging. 2. Internet Explorer - Set Home Page, Enable Menu, Favorites, Favorites Bar 3. Domain administrators in local Administrators group after joining domain - I have tried a .vbs file and I have tried net use but it doesn't add all of the groups. 4. Bitlocker - Because I kick off bit locker at the end to start encryption, it does not delete the c:\_smsts folder. I would like the task sequence to be considered done. Any help on any of these items would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Richard Ray
  8. I found that after upgrading to R2, I had to recreate all of my task sequences from Create Task Sequence . I couldn't just make changes to get it to work.
  9. After I upgraded to R2, I had to recreate my task sequences using the new boot image. I couldn't just change it, I had to recreate the whole task sequence and then everything started working again.
  10. In MDT, there was the final summary screen that showed if the image completed successfully or not and it would list any errors that it ran into. In Sccm 2012, R2, how do you know the image completed successfully? For example, I started an image last night before I left, when I came in this morning, the laptop was off. I started it up and it went into windows but I noticed it was missing drivers and applications. There was nothing to indicate whether it was successful or not. What is the best way to know if an image completed successfully? Thanks Rick
  11. What is the best way to set your image so that every user has the same profile for both OS's? Windows 7 - Desktop, Favorites, IE Settings (home page, enable menu and favorites bar, etc) Windows 8.1 - Same thing plus Tiles Thanks!
