Suppose it depends on what exactly you want to achieve. I use the UDI functionality for our production task sequences, this is due to every install we do being different (in terms of apps) and we have to support 12 languages.
Funny.. did you managed to use UDI with 1602? I tried and didn't work. I even posted the issue here, but someone replied that there are some known-issues with MDT 2013 update 2 that doesn't work so well with the newer SCCM versions. But can you please tell me your experience?

You can still use other TS or if you prefer, use the MDT TS.

Are you trying to boot from the boot images? if so, update the boot image on your DP's!

Do you have wsus console installed in the SCCM Server?! that's a requirement... I had that error a couple of years ago and I just had to install the CONSOLE (not the service). There is a powershell command for that. Hope it works!

Ok I will ask, why do you want to do that? You do know that even if you schedule this, it will automatic run once an hour for 7 days or until the client is installed. So what exactly are you hoping to control?

Does anyone has any clues how to fix this issue? I'm having the same problem....
When I request an "Software update scan cycle" on some clients I'm having this error message: OnSearchComplete - Failed to end search job. Error = 0x8007000e.
I've so far update the client, patch with the KB3112343; WSUS wizard clean up and rebuild the indexes on the SUSDB. Nothing works... This is very frustrating!!

For that you need your client, to schedule things... not this... just go man!

It covers all details that you need to understand how to create schedule updates to an image. Note that you need to have a image that you build (I don't know if you can use the install.wim to do offline servicing)...

Also that msi file in the network account... I think the account is also SYSTEM to access that share, meaning... it will failed unless you specify an user in that step of your task sequence.

I would do the following:
create separate applications:
run the setup /admin - change all the settings that you need. Save the MSP file in the folder "updates" that exists in media for each software (project and visio).
Use this step-by-step. It works very well.

How are these applications setup in the SCCM? "AS applications" or "Packages"?

You can use the install.wim and add applications and packages to the task sequence and it's fine... works really nice.
If you want to do offline servicing, like apply updates the image, add applications by default to the image, etc... then use the build and capture (from the install.wim). from this process you can use the new wim and create a new TS that will have all applications during your OSD and you may apply updates and upgrades!

DC = 2 cores; 2 GB RAM; 40 GB HDD;
CM = 4 cores; 12 GB RAM; 120 GB HDD;

You need to create a group, create a package, download, distribute and only then you can add the updates to the WIM.

MDT 2013 Update 2 have some issues regarding UDI. Maybe that is the cause of the problem?

I guess I have to install the ADK 10.0.586 and then apply the fix. Only then the UDI will work (I guess)... I'll try this update this week...

yes they did. This issue was way before the release of the hotfix. I'm still using the RTM version. I'll upgrade my adk only when a new release is published.

which patch did you apply? KB3112343? how did you apply this update? using wsus or you build a package?
