  1. Hi there, I've been able to create deployment types using Add-CMDeploymentType with this line : So : the properties of the MSI are read to propagate the uninstall command / the manufacturer / the detection method and so on... But as I have a custom msi install command (which I need to add into the Install Program field), how can I change this afterwards? I've tried these but seems I am missing some parameters? : thanks, /dimi
  2. Thanks a lot Garth - don't have any experience with the CM07 SDK but always interested to learn. So I'll see how this can be done (I hope). And strangely enough, MyITForum is currently not accessible so I'll check on there later. Accidentally : I've found an alternative approach (didn't think of it initially) : just manually export them using a report - this also generates an XML... /dimi
  3. Hi there, The migration tool (/rights) are managed on a CAS-level so I am unable to migrate using this tool. So : I've written a powershell script on our SCCM 2012 environment which takes a XML, creates the applications defined in there, creates the deployment type, creates the collection and deploys it to this collection. And afterwards, moves everything in their proper locations... So that part of the migration is written and tested. I now "just" need to find a way to export SCCM 2007 packages to a XML (or CSV) - my experience with 2007 isn't that profound unfortunately and I thought that the powershell connectivity isn't as well-defined as in 2012? Can someone point me to an article on how to do this? Is this possible at all? thanks! /dimi
  4. Thanks for the pointer and the help : I just had a look (as this was an application made by a colleague) : So there were some "dependencies" (but not really) : So basically, all it does is an uninstall of the previous version(s). I might've taken MS Office as an example but even simple applications without any dependencies (single MSI's eg) won't install... Running this application on an already completed machine works, running the installation manually also works... Don't mind going off-topic at all I am able to image these (without the applications... for now :-) ) but no, not using UDI (yet). We are preparing a zero-touch sequence and everything is installed according to the site and their variables... /dimi
  5. Hi there, First up : my extremely slimmed down sequence : As you can see, there's not much in there : the basics and closing down with the Install Application step near the end. I tried the "install applications according to dynamic variable list" (set to APP and with the corresponding variables set in the collection - APP01 to APP12) but noticed a problem and went with the above settings. The "continue on error" is disabled so if it fails it should halt the sequence... But something strange is happening (a copy/paste from the status messages) : The task sequence successfully installed application Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 SP1 X64 Full(ScopeId_775FF90F-ECC3-496F-89BB-B591C4C11B9A/Application_59c84133-cc7d-44a9-9101-f51e9031aab1) for action (Install Application) in the group () with exit code 0. So, the status message viewer shows that the installation succeeds but after the sequence has been completed, nothing is installed. If any other info is needed : do let me know, thanks for any help, /dimi
  6. Found the solution the day after : seems that the boot WIM wasn't replicated to the secondary site - updated the DP's and boom went the dynamite :-) /dimi
  7. Going along with anyweb : I assume you're trying to stage it in UEFI mode? To cancel out this uncertainty, just create 2 "partition disk" steps (as per the default steps when going through the OSD wizard eg) in your sequence : 1. partition disk BIOS - disk type MBR and with 2 partitions (system reserved + windows primary / both NTFS), the _SMSTSBootUEFI variable doesn't equals true 2. partition disk UEFI - disk type GPT and with 4 partitions (Windows recovery + "EFI" (FAT32 500Mb) + "MSR" (128Mb) + windows primary), the _SMSTSBootUEFI equals true If this is "bad" advice, my apologies and feel to correct me :-) We have the same machines over here (in a CU3 env though) and well, this is interesting!
  8. Hi there, I'm at a loss here and ran out of ideas : the following problem : First the log : Client lookup reply: <ClientIDReply><Identification Unknown="0" ItemKey="2097171509" ServerName=""><Machine><ClientID/><NetbiosName/></Machine></Identification></ClientIDReply> SMSPXE 18/05/2015 13:52:16 20032 (0x4E40) 50:1A:C5:FE:C1:4E, : device is in the database. SMSPXE 18/05/2015 13:52:16 20032 (0x4E40) Client boot action reply: <ClientIDReply><Identification Unknown="0" ItemKey="2097171509" ServerName=""><Machine><ClientID/><NetbiosName/></Machine></Identification><PXEBootAction LastPXEAdvertisementID="" LastPXEAdvertisementTime="" OfferID="" OfferIDTime="" PkgID="" PackageVersion="" PackagePath="" BootImageID="" Mandatory=""/></ClientIDReply> SMSPXE 18/05/2015 13:52:16 20032 (0x4E40) 50:1A:C5:FE:C1:4E, : no advertisements found SMSPXE 18/05/2015 13:52:16 20032 (0x4E40) 50:1A:C5:FE:C1:4E, : No boot action. Aborted. SMSPXE 18/05/2015 13:52:16 20032 (0x4E40) 50:1A:C5:FE:C1:4E, : Not serviced. SMSPXE 18/05/2015 13:52:16 20032 (0x4E40) So as you can see, I have the 'no advertisements found' problem, read up on many threads here and outside of windows-noob and tried the following : 1. deleted the device + verified there are no duplicates (MAC and GUID) 2. added the GUID of this system in the following location : HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WDSServer\Providers\WDSPXE - BannedGuids (just to be sure that only the MAC of the device is verified) 3. verified the itemkey (2097171509) that it corresponds in the console 4. verified that the device has only 1 sequence targeted (with the RightMouse tools : client tools - show collections-advanced) 5. verified that the device is not in the Unknown Computers and that no OSD's are assigned to that collection (you never know) 6. a new collection was made with the sequence as the deployment, the PC was added to this new collection 7. a copy of the sequence was made, with just some basic 5 steps, along with a new collection that references this sequence 8. the server (hosting a secondary site) was rebooted Any help is appreciated! /dimi
